ArmokGoB,

We don’t talk about how they racked up hundreds of thousands of negative reviews in three days last week with their shitty business decisions.

ArmokGoB,

I think they’re only east of the Rockies. I didn’t see them on the West Coast at all.

ArmokGoB,

If they want to achieve goals against the university administration, they should protest in a way that disrupts the administration, not the students.

ArmokGoB,

No shit it got violent police reprisals. The students are just easy targets because they know that if they actually pick useful targets, they will get a police response. This entire thing is a show at the students’ expense.

ArmokGoB,

It doesn’t matter if you made the best game ever if people aren’t able to play it.

ArmokGoB,

This is exactly what I expected. People are liars and slacktivists.

ArmokGoB,

By reading this comment you agree to pay me $1,000.

‘Huge win’: Brown University protesters reach an agreement to dismantle encampment (forward.com)

This article describes the little-reported on success that Brown University had in disbanding student protest… by conceding to let activists present a case for divestment at an upcoming hearing before the university’s investment board....

ArmokGoB,

No, they don’t deserve any respect for this. They are cowards, just like all the people that lost morale and broke when we were kettled at the BLM protest I attended in 2020. Nothing meaningful will come of this. They should have held out until meaningful action had already been achieved instead of agreeing to some dog and pony show in October with no amnesty for the protesters.

ArmokGoB,

We had unfocused action in the 2020 protests and it was laughably ineffective because of it.

ArmokGoB, (edited )

a false statement purporting to be fact

So if you make up some BS and try to pedal it as fact, it is not protected speech. That doesn’t make your lies facts, nor does it make them opinions. They’re just lies.

EDIT: Before anyone tries to bring up lies being spread in other contexts, this is specifically in the context of defamation, and defamation is an established exception to what constitutes “free speech” under the First Amendment.

ArmokGoB,

Why wouldn’t it be? It’s just as much a textual medium as a PDF, or a book, for that matter. Hell, any file on a computer can be read as characters. I could type Homer’s Odyssey in a series of comments, or the source code to DOOM, or the color values of every pixel of every frame of a video I took of my friend chasing a duck.

ArmokGoB,

As long as you aren’t committing copyright infringement by using a meme you don’t have the rights to, and otherwise meeting the standards of having a “modicum of creativity,” I don’t see why you wouldn’t have copyright on it. That being said, there are few goals more futile than that of trying to remove something off the internet for copyright infringement.

ArmokGoB,

She could be his lawyer. Who knows what’s going on here TBH.

ArmokGoB,

I’d be using Linux on my laptop too if Destiny 2 supported it.
