Audacious,

Hollywood money is highly regulated, and secret service is very strict about it. Adam Savage recently made a YouTube vid about movie money, which has stories about the secret service at the beginning of the video: youtube.com/watch?v=drLzVcgnBfI

Trump floats idea of three-term presidency at NRA convention (www.theguardian.com)

Donald Trump flirted with the idea of being president for three terms – a clear violation of the US constitution – during a bombastic speech for the National Rifle Association in which he vowed to reverse gun safety measures green-lighted during the Biden administration....

Audacious,

This tells me the judge admitted that trump is above the law because of his position.

Audacious,

I’m so ready for something like this. I’ve cleaned up my bookmarks and been waiting for alternatives to search engines.

Audacious,

Can confirm from personal experience, taco bell gives me diarrhea but chipotle doesn’t. Used to get weekly chipotle burritos because of the school discount.

Audacious,

Stinky tofu. Smelled like literal shit, tasted like literal shit.

Using Lemmy make me hate Windows (or any proprietary softwares) and finally make me fully switched to Linux

Just like migrating from Reddit to Lemmy it’s the same as migrating from Windows to Linux, there’s shortcomings and learning curve and the more I use Lemmy the more I hate about Windows, because unlike reddit Lemmy is open source and open source softwares communities is more popular than proprietary communities and people...

Audacious,

I’ll try this next, thanks for the info.

Audacious,

Haven’t heard of Lutris, and the website says it’s an open source gaming platform. I’m kinda confused about what it does. It’s a client to host all your gaming accounts? How’s that related to NP++? Sorry if I sound too obtuse, it can take a bit on the uptake for me.

Audacious,

Tired it and it didn’t have the features I wanted. Last I looked, the description said they are in the process of implementing them.

Audacious, (edited )

-Folder search/replace functions, which searches all text in all file types in a folder I choose.

-User created language rules and formatting (An example use case is a personal path of exile’s loot filter)

-Dark mode or ability to customize UI colors

-Exporting/importing application settings and languages

Notepad++ can do these without too much of a learning curve, which is nice, because I’m not looking for a full IDE to learn. Also the last two points are not as important, but really nice to have.

I’m willing to learn a new software package as long as it doesn’t have a big learning curve (basically as easy as notepad++), suggestions would be welcomed and maybe a nudge in the right direction to where these features are.

Audacious,

I installed Linux mint in dual boot configuration, which had some problems getting working (aka not easy). I haven’t used it much mostly because notepad++ isn’t available outside of emulation and ubuntu’s repo. I tried like all the Linux notepads’ and didn’t like them because they lacked notepad++ functionalities I wanted. I really want to drop windows, but cannot right now.

Audacious,

It’s weird that those forums are in English, reading the insane takes and rhetoric. I also noticed many of the accounts are just prolific posters, making the community seem small to me. Also saw an account with a trans flag, which is surprising they would accommodate such a person or such a person would have those weird views on lemmygrad.

Corporate astroturfing is the norm

Went to Google Play to complain about Hulu. I noticed Google advertising that over 300 reviews had the verbatim quote “watch and movies that you love”. It’s always confusing that buggy corporate apps have >95% 5 star reviews until you see that the majority are just completely fake, and no one cares or is doing anything...

Audacious,

I see this on all platforms, even steam. Only the negative reviews are culled and labelled ‘review bombing’ by the corpos.

Audacious,

It’s an alternative idea for a removable battery that they don’t want to give back to the consumers, not even the steam deck has this. Software updates are nice, but the batteries are still the main limiting factor on a phones usability. I know getting free battery replacements is asking too much, but their dark patterns are as well. Corporations have way too much leeway, power, and protections; I don’t care if they get hit hard with changes that help consumers.

Audacious,

What about the battery? I doubt they support free battery replacements for 7 years…

Audacious,

I don’t mind looking through several pages of results, but the problem is that many results are the same web domains, which causes glazed-over eyes seeing the same results. So, I think it’s the search engine’s fault for this behavior, at least for me.

Audacious,

Well this explains why a bunch of hospitals went bankurpt in MA recently. What a horrible way to make money.

Audacious,

His best movies are the lawyer ones earlier in his career. I don’t like most of his action movies. Too bad he basically ruined Mission Impossible’s formula.

Audacious,

What’s up with this video? I’m not interested in watching it, but YouTube keeps recommending it to me, and every time I see it the views on it keeps exponentially growing.

Audacious,

He is the ‘new’ Florida man, but in power and hates everything nice in the world.

Audacious,

Would this work with TV show DVDs that have several episodes on a disk?

4 months durability for an $800 phone!

My old $200 Motorola G9 Power phone lasted almost 4 years with only very minor scratches. Obviously in that period I have dropped it a few times getting out of the car, where the phone sometimes work itself out of my pant pocket while I drive, and then it slips out when I get out of the car. But no problem on my previous phones,...

Audacious,

There is nothing premium about glass, that’s marketing lying to you. It’s designed to break easily being smooth and fragile, to make the phones more disposable.
