Three hours of reading a complex document in a printout (softcover) and it’s crazy how much more convenient this is than reading a similarly complex PDF yesterday.

That experience tell me that wherever I can I should go for #paper #books.

@ArneBab For me they are used totally differently. The paper book is for continuous reading. The PDF for reference checking. If not used correctly they do not properly.

Ach Leute. Ich hab heute mal wieder RPG- Neulinge mit dem Hobby in Kontakt gebracht. die Drachen von San Diego. Lief prima und es wurde gleich nach einer Fortsetzung gefragt. So muss das. :D

Day 30 - Obscure RPG you've played

I'd like to name here. Mr. Punch took over Puppetland, killed the Maker and installed an autocracy. In sessions of 1 real time hour you play puppets trying to overcome him and restore peace to Puppetland.

Day 29 - most memorable encounter (this year)

We, @ArneBab and myself as double gm, had a two party session of set in and outside of a video game with sentient NPCs and players. The best encounter was with the real selfs of the player players after they got kicked out of the game and realized, that everything up to that point in the story had been a game for their characters too.

Day28 - scariest game you played

This year I did not play any scary RPG games. It is not my style of game anyways. Scary in a sense of powerlessness and struggling is a different thing though. I do remember a One Shot of in 2004. Playing kids without powers facing horrors is really something that gets to you.

Ich habe mich in der letzten Woche ziemlich intensiv mit Lizenzen für beschäftigt und insbesondere die (https://openrpg.de/license/orc/de/, Übersetzung durch ) genau angeschaut. Sie lässt mich ziemlich ratlos zurück. Aber IANAL und vielleicht verstehe ich sie auch einfach nicht. Ich suche daher Feedback zu einigen Punkten. 🧵 1/4

@ArneBab @Gerhard_Schroeder spontan fällt mir nicht ein, welches System das ist. Sorry. Ich hab zwar das dumpfe Gefühl, dass ich von einem passenden System schon gehört hab, aber das ist vermutlich eben nur das.

Ich hab eben nochmal den Katalog von @systemmatters durchgesehen, aber da hab ich auch nichts gefunden.

Day 26 - favorite character sheet

I like to scribble on my character sheets. Paper is the sheet of choice. When creating characters I love to use digital tools, too. For for example I use Second Step.

Day 25 - Unplayed RPG I own

A lot of my RPGs I played at least once, but like most of you there is a pile of shame in my bookshelf too.

- been talking about this one this month already. I like PtbA games, but I am wary about the balance mechanic. Kids will probably force me to GM it anyway.

Day 24 - Complex/ Simple RPG you play

As people keep saying is said to use a complex system. I only notice it, whenever I introduce new players. Though I have to admit, some talent effects changed over editions and my first take is probably not the correct one.

The most simple system I am currently playing is PtbA. So easy to get people in.

Day 23 - Coolest Looking RPG Product

Once more a hard question. Should I vote for the Werewolf the Apocalypse Book with those cool claw marks that went through the cover. Or is it the Wild West version with a penetrating gunshot hole?

The Mage The Ascension book? The Cult of Ecstasy Book being the only one in my collection sitting in a plastic bag.

They are all great. But my pick is again. I have three books, which should be all ever published in english, and none is the same format. The base book is a flip book which offers you one side for the rules and one for the world description. They did some nice work on the typography as well. The first supplement came as a boxed three-book set and the campaign as a neat quadratic book. Steamlogic where clearly going for an artful take.

As @Phybe said about - you pay for this by endlessly searching for the fact you want to look up. It is absolutely the same here. I can't count how many times I flipped the book over and over because I couldn't remember which half the fact I was looking for held it. I guess function did follow the form here, right.

@jakob @ArneBab so ist es. Wien macht das ziemlich konsequent wie es scheint. Ich habe noch nicht viel gesehen, aber sowohl in Zentrum wie auch im Wohnbezirk, in dem die Ferienwohnung liegt, ist die Infrastruktur sehr gut. Kein Vergleich zum heimischen , aber auch generell zu deutschen Städten, Hamburg, Berlin, München, Köln.

@jakob komm mal nach Augsburg. Vielleicht ist es nur die Perspektive, aber was ich bisher gesehen habe, gefällt mir gut. Schraubenauffahrten auf Brücken, durchgehende Radwege, auch baulich vom PKW-Verkehr getrennt. Find ich gut. Mehr davon kann Wien dann selbst also wohl auch gebrauchen?
