Thank you @Capricorn for that site, I didn’t know about it before

Interesting way to discard the opinion of a website with over 1,050,000 registered users in more than 90 countries

Thanks for sharing, and happy to see two of the communities I’m posting to on Lemm.ee are mentioned there (!yurop and !movies )

The centralization on Lemmy.world can create performance issues. Reddthat has been having issues since LW upgraded to 19.3: grafana.lem.rocks/d/…/federation-health?orgId=1&a…, while they have no issues with SJW: grafana.lem.rocks/d/…/federation-health?orgId=1&a…

@ticoombs, our admin, is trying to figure out a solution, but it might require important rework of the Lemmy codebase

I’m thinking about asking a few communities I mod on LW if they could consider moving to another instance to spread the load.

How dare they!

With 0.19, you can even move your subscribe list in two clicks from the settings (you get a JSON file that you can import on another instance) without external apps

Definitely. On the other hand, it might be better to give the audience a bit of rest with super hero movies before coming back with those 3.

What is the cruelest "twist the knife" move or statement by a villain in a film for you?

I’m talking about a moment when a villain has the hero at their mercy and then does a move to really show what an utter bastard they are. There’s no shortage of them, but one that really sticks out to me is one line from “Se7en” at the climax from Kevin Spacey as John Doe....

Interesting take on Chalamet. I see what you mean about his being unrelatable.

Thank you for the link!

You are welcome!

it all just adds up to mean that Beehaw and Lemmy’s goals still haven’t fully aligned in the last 6 months.

Yes indeed

I feel you, didn’t we all? That’s a thought that was haunting me for a bit “if only I had gotten some BTC a bit earlier, and sold at the peak…”

But I think overall, those thoughts are more negative than anything. You can’t do much about what happened in the past, you can only change the present.

It’s really to early too know any of this.

Depending on the community (instance admin included) reception of Sublinks, several scenarios can happen

  • a lot of major instances switch to Sublinks
  • only a few instances switch to it

As Sublinks will be compatible with Lemmy apps at that time, there will be a time where both will coexist as options to use with the apps. Application developpers will probably cater to the most population solution, whatever that is. Ultimately, Lemmy and Sublinks won’t probably be fully compatible anymore, and apps will need to choose.

It’s actually kind of already the case with Mbin, which doesn’t have as many clients as Lemmy, while still allowing users to interact with the Lemmy communities.
