FFS this has to be one of the worst translation errors in a game I've ever seen, just for the sheer amount of frustration it caused. So I've been playing the new on Switch, a brutally hard roguelike dungeon crawler

When you die in a dungeon (which you will a lot) you're supposed to be able to send a "rescue request" so that other players online can make it to your location and revive you

Except this option wouldn't appear for me

Sometimes you get a good run where RNG smiles upon you and you get a nice combination of items, make it further than you ever have before, then get surrounded by ninjas or whatever and die immediately. Be nice to get rescued right? Without the request option it's back to level 1 in the starting village, lose all your gear, sucks to be you!

Anyway, this option in settings literally does the opposite of what it says. Set it to "off" if you want to be rescued 😡

Took me >15 hours to work this out

That's right! Set it to "Off" and you'll be able to request rescue if you die in a dungeon!

@OutofPrintArchive yeah it wasn't until I took that screenshot that I noticed that. I even deleted my first save and started all over again after 10+ hours 😕

Furthest I got with my first save was floor 26 of the 31 floor main dungeon, got nowhere near that since!

The reviews were right, this game is excellent. I'm only a couple of hours in but loving it so far. It looks gorgeous. There's a lot to take in but it's introducing new mechanics at a comfortable pace for a SRPG newbie like me

Deleted my saves and started again, only a couple of hours lost, trying not to rely on Josef the uber-paladin to win all the early fights for me this time 😅 playing handheld mode on my OLED and it's definitely a contender for "best looking game on the system"

Might go back to 13 Sentinels at some point as I bounced off that game when I played it a couple of years ago

@OutofPrintArchive the reason I started again this morning is cos I was pretty tired when I played it yesterday and it throws a lot of mechanics at you in the early stages, and I wasn't really paying attention and missed a couple of things

Also, make sure you go into options and enable the "automatically pause at battle start" setting as this really helps

ATLUS posted a short video for the release of the Original Soundtrack, and the video starts with the Reload version of "Burn My Dread" which isn't used in the game (to my knowledge) and isn't on the soundtrack CDs included in the Aigis Edition

I'm gonna have to get this, aren't I 😇

Spent the last couple of hours updating my PS3 that had been boxed up for about 10 years or so, and recovering my forgotten US account.
Why, you ask?

Well, to finally do something which I had been planning for over a decade but never actually did.

To buy the two SMT Devil Summoner Raidou games, the second which never came out in Europe. 👹
Grabbed Grandia 3 as well as Persona 2 Eternal Punishment. 🥰

Bit of a mess to get funds to the console nowadays, but it's done.

@OutofPrintArchive I hope you don't mind me showing off, these are the two jewels in the crown of my SMT collection

I just wish the Raidou 1 didn't have that ugly AU/NZ age rating on it, it is a PAL copy though and runs on a UK PS2

@OutofPrintArchive it's kinda easy (no soldering) but takes a bit of work, buy a Free McBoot memory card off ebay then you can use OPL to run ISOs off the internal hard drive

To install the hard drive you need the PS2 network/hard drive adaptor and a little circuit board (ebay again) to change the old IDE connector to a modern SATA one. To get the ISOs on to the HDD is a bit of a pain as you can't rip NTSC discs in a PAL PS2 so you have to connect it to your PC and use a program called WINHIIP

@OutofPrintArchive I saw a post claiming that in the run up to Tears of the Kingdom's release, when the game leaked the Yuzu team made the patches that enabled the leaked ROM to work in the emulator exclusive to Patreon supporters

So yeah, not much sympathy
