It has always amused me that the tourists to the US that I’ve spoken to are often very excited to see raccoons, and disappointed if they don’t see them before they leave....
Desert southwest USA here. For us, it’s usually roadrunners, armadillos, and blue tail lizards. Although, the blue tails along with the horny toads are becoming a touch more rare it seems.
I’ve read a lot of people talk about doing this, and I kinda follow, but also: almost any time I’ve tried it ends up becoming background noise and I follow almost none of it. Are those of you that do this doing simpler tasks as you listen?
I feel like there were a number of studies on air traffic controllers and pilots involving task switching/multitasking/focus. May be a place to start looking at least. I don’t have any links to share atm though.
Finally got to try etching. The pattern is the pcb layout of a classic Pi. Bonus point to anyone that can name the typeface, or at least where it came from. Man, I love these big Boss style knobs. I got a 10 pack and I’m almost out already. Next diy project is a Lovepedal Cheese clone with a dry blend add on.
My understanding is that polyester and other sweat-wicking materials are better for preventing chafing and allow for faster drying, whereas cotton absorbs and stays wet, which is more abrasive.
For me, either the shorts with a liner work best or commando in leggings. I don’t particularly have issue with my bits moving, I just want them to stay put.
I hear that Elite Dangerous is incredible in VR, especially with a high octane rig to drive a good headset. I have a kindergartener though, so no time or money available for that any time soon.
What do you wear for work?

In your country, what "common" animals are tourists most excited to see?

For podcast/audiobook listeners that multitask, do you follow all of what's being discussed/said as you listen & do other stuff?

do you notice any difference wearing polyester underwear to cotton?
I’ve read cotton absorbs sweat, whereas polyester repels it, so if I run I should get polyester underwear....
Which VR game would you like to play, but can't?
Some of the reasons I can think of: it’s on a different platform, not enough space, hardware too weak, motion sickness, accessibility, too scary, …
