Sounds like they intentionally overstepped the line so that pulling back would make it seem like "they listened", when in reality it was just a way of them putting other slightly less shitty policies through with less backlash.
First all the bs with Twitter and Elon, then Reddit having an exodus to Lemmy (not complaining lol), then Twitch. Are we like, in an alternate self healing dimension or something?
Logged into youtube today and discovered that the subscription page is absolutely fucked now. It only shows three thumbnails per row on my 13" laptop screen and they've removed the separation by date, so now it's way harder to tell if any of my subscriptions have uploaded today. Seems like everything is going down the shitter.
Fair enough, but beehaws the only instance I know of that defeds with lemmygrad. If I wanted to recommend a lemmy instance to a friend and didn't want them put off by the awfulness of that community I wouldn't know where else to point them to.
I'm running 10 LTSC on my main desktop pc and get no nagging to upgrade at all. Tbh the only thing stopping me from switching to Linux is lack of driver support for my simracing wheel (still waiting, thrustmaster...)
I'm a musician and have been a musician for over 10 years. Only recently in the past 4 or 5 years have I really gotten into recording myself on a DAW and if I'm being honest, I've gotten to a point where I can really make some stuff I enjoy. It's not always easy, but I can get some pretty banging tracks going....

Just joined because of all the reddit shenanigans. Quick question: I'm posting from the beehaw instance and am wondering what happens to my account if the instance goes down? Does it just disappear?

Seriously, what's up with big sites literally dying as we speak?
