"Text editing on mobile isn’t ok. It’s actually much worse than you think, an invisible problem no one appreciates." (jenson.org)
How do you deal with a existential crisis?
How to you come to terms with the fact that you will eventually not exist?...
I hate using mobile to read articles (lemmy.world)
Video playing, ad that scrolls, two lines of a story, the bottom popping up with notifications every few minutes over the top of more scrolling ads....
GCC embraces web technologies with one (1) line of CSS.
Among the 15~ million lines of codes in the GCC source code, there is a single CSS line....
Why does lemmy have it, so any link takes you off the page instead of opening in a new tab or window?
It is a simple line of code and the entire site does this or add target=“_blank” to every hyperlink, and it will do the same thing. It sucks that you have to right-click every link to open in a new tab or window and it is such a simple fix.

Every single rising post on Reddit is crypto spam (discuss.online)
In the age of AI-spam, I now treat typos in webpages as a good sign
I used to think typos meant that the author (and/or editor) hadn’t checked what they wrote, so the article was likely poor quality and less trustworthy. Now I’m reassured that it’s a human behind it and not a glorified word-prediction algorithm.

Instead of movies and crappy games on those in-flight displays, they should just stream the view out the cockpit window.
Like, I’m on a plane. I don’t want to watch Toy Story when I can do that at home, I want to see what the pilots see. And that way every seat has technically a window to look out of.
Here we go again (lemmus.org)
probably my biggest gripe with Lemmy right now. Feels like I'm just stuck in a loop. (lemmy.ca)
We're the creators of Lemmy, Ask Us Anything. *Starts Monday, 7 Aug, 1500 CEST*
This is an opportunity for any users, server admins, or interested third parties to ask anything they’d like to @nutomic and I about Lemmy. This includes its development and future, as well as wider issues relevant to the social media landscape today....

Are there any Arabic speaking people on Lemmy?
I’m pretty sure you all are around here lurking in the shadows. If there are any, let know if anyone is interested in creating our own sub/community. Just to note one thing, I’m in no way shape or form interested in religion. Thanks
I Compiled the Linux Kernel myself for the first time
It’s not really a big deal, but I am currently writing this using a linux kernel I compiled from source, which certainly feels like an accomplishment. The Arch Wiki has made the process fairly easy to follow. I just took the stock Arch Linux configuration without changes for now....

What happened to the previous meme content/posters?
I’m not trying to hate on the “old memes” in any way, but what happened to all the meme content on Lemmy being made before the last few days?...
