Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa had called for Lisbon to find ways to compensate its former colonies, including canceling debt. The government says it has not initiated any process to that effect....
Benefitting how? They were a drain on the Portuguese economy.
Portugal invested more in the colonies infrastructures than in the country itself. The carnation revolution had a few reasons and one of them being that despite the government stubborness, the Portuguese people did not want to keep the colonies.

Just a simple Google search reveals that 14000 humanitarian aid trucks entered the strip since the start of the war but it seems a lot of them were vandalized/raided by civilians and Palestinian criminal groups trying to capitalize on the desperation of people.
So it is not a complete siege with NO AID as the OP says. Just to bring another view on this echo chamber of “Israel =evil”.
You’re thinking of cars, industry and others that have high value batteries.
Power tools, smartphones etc charge to the maximum 4.2V/cell, sometimes even 4.3V (some chemistries safely allow it) because the average person just wants the maximum runtime and will replace the equipment before the battery degrades significantly.
I too believe that. Most people in this community abhorre everything hamas stands for (if you don’t, shame on you) but God forbid if Israel does anything to solve the problem of having a neighbouring country trying to kill every single citizen of you own.
Just let it be and it will resolve itself, they think.
“HAMAS is committed to armed resistance against Israel and the creation of an Islamic Palestinian state in Israel’s place. HAMAS has been the de facto governing body in the Gaza Strip since 2007, when it ousted the Palestinian Authority from power.”
Your not much of a negotiator if your idea of negotiation is the destruction and annihilalition of the other party.
A cow also produces a lot of methane, a much worse greenhouse gas.
Besides, the problem isn’t the grass from cows grazing, it’s the rainforests that go down all around the world to convert to farmland to produce animal feed.
It’s much more efficient to use that farmland to feed humans than to feed cows and then feed humans (1kg of meat needs 25kg of feed)
Disclaimer - I’m not vegan but I try to reduce my meat consumption overall, especially red meats.
