Spitball idea for iOS: When doing a screen recording, automatically turn on Do Not Disturb for the duration of the recording.

So many times when I’m recording my screen, say, to have a video to send a developer with a bug report, the recording gets ruined by an incoming notification.

@gruber I haven't gotten a notification while Screen Recording in recent times and I had thought that was because of the Screen Sharing setting (makes sense for it to affect both). But after reading your DF post it might be that Smart Activation thing (which I had not realized was even a thing). I'm unsure.

I usually love @verge but this is a bad take. Of course Apple used professional lighting and equipment when taking the video. That doesn't at all diminish the result or achievement here.

    Weird bug I’ve never seen with any previous iPhone I’ve owned: my iPhone 15 Pro stopped charging over USB-C. Tried multiple cables, multiple chargers, nothing.

    Powered the iPhone off and back on, and it’s back to normal. But I can’t recall ever seeing an iPhone refuse to charge before. (iOS 17.0.3.)

    It pisses me off that AP style is “Black” (capital B) but “white” (lowercase w).

    Like, pick one. I propose that both should be lowercased (“African American” should be capitalized because it describes two countries).

    One Android tech thing I don't understand: why still ship USB-A cables in 2023? I could maybe understand "people don't typically have USB-C bricks yet" but they include a charging brick!

    Long-shot question, but is there some way for to replicate this auto-indentation from TextMate (and like every other editor)? Writing in BBEdit is such a tedious process because I have to indent manually and that causes many “IndentationError” errors.

    Proper automatic indentation in TextMate.

    @mjgardner @bbedit @siegel I already have that enabled, and it's nice, but it doesn't do what I want. If code is already indented, it maintains that indentation across lines. I want to recognize that I've typed a colon and indent by four tabs automatically.

    Copying the indentation from one line to the next.
