Why isn’t the American right talking about this sort of “cancel culture?”
Oh boo-hoo, you got shadowbanned on Facebook? This journalist’s father got arrested and sent to a military camp and told to tell his son to write nicer articles about India or else.
Jordan Klepper just did a Daily Show special about the American right being useful idiots for Putin and a journalist was on it talking about how Moscow is now like Berlin under the Stasi. People are being arrested for things they say to their neighbor.
You can watch the whole thing here. It’s funny, since it’s a Daily Show special, but it’s also infuriating and horrifying.
None of the aid that has been unloaded from the temporary pier the US constructed off the coast of Gaza has been delivered to the broader Palestinian population, as the US works with the UN and Israel to identify safe delivery routes inside the enclave, the Pentagon said on Tuesday....
There are plenty of non-Jews in Israel. Some are even in Netanyahu’s party. Netanyahu is fine with them if they vote for him or another party in the coalition, which they are known to do.
Netanyahu specifically wants to take Palestinian land at the expense of Palestinians. It’s not because they’re Muslims, it’s because they have the land he wants and he wants it at all cost.
Netanyahu wants you to think this is about Jews. It isn’t about Jews. Don’t fall for that.

I always say this as a parent- Parenthood is, by far, the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life (in part because I try to do it well). It has also been the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done in my life, but if you are not prepared to spend the time, the effort, and the money on a child, do not have a child. No child should grow up unloved or neglected. This is yet another reason why abortion rights are so important.
I did contract work back when I was in L.A. and I can’t go back to that sort of financial uncertainty at this point. It also takes so much more effort just to keep getting paid. You have to spend all your time not working hustling for work.
If your kid wanted to start, for example, Disney Coin Laundry and had a sign that was clearly not affiliated with the Walt Disney company, they would have a chance to trademark it. Disney’s lawyers would definitely try to fight it, but you would technically have the right to do so.
A trademark has to be protected and also can’t be associated with a competitive business.
And I already countered that by pointing out that the difference in level of lethality between the two means the amount of risk a bigot would have to face in order to attack a queer is different, therefore they do not have the same level of deterrence.
I see… so this would be a person who is so extremely stupid that they would attack someone with a stun gun on their belt, but not a regular gun.
That doesn’t sound especially plausible.
And, again, I never said they were a deterrent, you did. I can’t answer why they would have the same level of deterrence when, yet again, I never made a claim that they were a deterrent. I was merely responding to your claim that they were.
Okay, you’re clearly not actually reading my comments since I’ve said multiple times now that I am not claiming that either are deterrents, so I’m just going to end this conversation. If you’re not going to read my comments, there’s no point in continuing.
It’s nice that you think you, without any experience in the matter, can solve problems with desalination that engineers in the field can’t, but I doubt you are actually able to.
