My upcoming smog-goblin artificer is going to have a pet (either Battle Smith or the mobile turret from Artillerist).

@bedirthan My first choice is crab: hard shell, bottom feeder, extra legs, claws up!

But beaver makes a great second choice: wood chipper mouth.

I like 90 % of the interactions on mastodon but for the other 10 % - yeeeeeah I really wish there was a 'post only to this group' setting.

Yes I know there is functionality to just use everyone's name/handle and then make a toot private, but that's not the functionality I'm after. I want to be able to add names to a group and then have only those people (and instance admins obviously) see that post

There are fandom / hobby discussions I wanna have without having to fight trolls. Y'know ?

@Faintdreams I am suddenly wondering how the List option to "Show replies to: No one / Members of the list / Any followed user" works and if this might help. Other than ignoring/muting/blocking folks outside the intended audience.

Wanted to share some really nice ones (not free, but cheap) I've come across this morning

  1. ARQUI: a really nice take on traditional architecture drawings handwriting style BUT it ALSO has a lower case variant. https://creativemarket.com/juanmikes/1828260-Arqui-Architect-Blueprint-Font

I spent the today waiting for the vet. My dog is having symptoms that are nearly identical to a stroke that starting during my weekly game last night. It wasn't a stroke, but he can't stand or walk straight and he's going to need help getting around until he recovers.

My partner has cat fever, in which I am sent links to adoptable kittens via humane society, like this is a subtle hint... and something tells me we will adopt a shelter kitten soon, haha

The odds were in our favor for one of the kittens we applied for!

We discussed it a lot (re: a new kitten), and between the two of us, we'd filled out about 4 separate applications, heh.

(It's a bit competitive in our area for adopting dogs/cats/small animals/farm animals - which is good but also tricky.)

It tugs my heart strings to unpack and dust off our old cat's stuff. It's been almost a year since he passed. But it makes me happy we held onto it all. I'd like to think he'd approve. 🐱

Say hello to Max! Named for "Mad" Max Rockatansky on account of his 'battle damage' (clipped ear, a jank leg).

He's originally from Maui and was part of a group sent to the mainland to help free up resources for fire survivors.

The leg is an old injury that healed wonky; the ear we think may have been done to indicate he's fixed.

Despite all this, Max is still an active and inquisitive kitten who's already poking his nose into everything and knocking stuff off tables. 🐾

    @rivetgeek Yeh... A friend recently gave me a Bluesky invite and, not to sound ungrateful but, I just wasn't interested in joining (given who runs it, the bots, the negative parts of Twitter vibes, etc). Still locked in the username there but Mastodon has been such a refreshing socmed platform, I love it here too much, haha.
