FrostKing,

I don’t run Linux (though I’m admittedly more interested in it than I used to be) but the reddit API stuff definitely made me learn more about foss, and value it more.

FrostKing,

Interesting to know that steam, gog, and epic (specifically) all work well for you, I’ve heard mixed results with Epic, some say it doesn’t work. Maybe I’ve gotten wrong info.

I have an older laptop, and as soon as I can upgrade to something better, I’m going to use it as a Linux practice.

FrostKing,

Honestly surprised that I hear this so much. For context, I am not a Republican, so I’m not defending them, but every Republican I’ve talked to has been anti Russia to the max. They might disagree on the amount of money that we send Ukraine (“Why are we sending billions over there when we can’t even figure out our own country” comes up a lot) but I’ve never heard a single one say anything in the support of Russia. It’s so confusing when I hear people say conservatives are pro-Russia… Different ecosystems I guess

FrostKing,

Can someone tell me what IPO is, and act like I’m not an idiot XD

FrostKing,

When I actually talk with Trump supporters, it’s very clear to me that many don’t actually support trump. Or, at least, not the trump we see. It’s usually a case of leading a busy life and making the mistake of trusting a news org to tell you the truth of the matter when you have five minutes to catch up. And if you pick one that supports trump …well you see where this goes. It is admittedly clear that people don’t understand the gravity of the situation—but as a result, the ‘crime’ is usually ignorance, not maliciousness. As always, the fact that this is a ‘political’ topic muddies the water, and no one understands what the other side actually wants. We do agree on most things, it’s just silly tribalism that makes us call a large portion of the population a “piece of shit”.

There are always those outliers that are genuinely evil, but I do believe they’re outliers.

FrostKing,

To be fair, that’s likely because the more reasonable ones are smart enough to know it’s stupid to openly proclaim support of trump. It’s likely that outlier group I mentioned that are ‘open trump supporters’

FrostKing,

Great way to rephrase my point, a lot more concise XD Sometimes I ramble.

FrostKing,

It’s surprisingly hard (at least for me, perhaps I’m looking wrong :p) to find general comparisons comparing the brands for overall usefulness. You’ll find stuff comparing their drills, or something specific, but not everything overall. Which seems much more important, as (as has been mentioned in these comments) the batteries really lock you into one brand.

FrostKing,

You’ll want to put the observers directly on top of the pistons, and instead of having one, have an individual one for each piston (not required, but it would speed it up a lot) Those observers should be facing the sugar cane. Then, place a block on the back side of the observers, and a piece of redstone dust under that block (you can place blocks down so that you have somewhere to put the redstone dust)

In my experience this is the best way to do it. Happy farming!

FrostKing,

I was very intimidated as well, I’ll try to simplify it, but as always check the documentation ;)

This is the process I used to sync between my Windows PC and Android phone to sync retroarch saves (works well, would recommend, Pokemon is awesome) I’ve never done it on a Linux, though i assume it’s not too different

docs.syncthing.net/intro/getting-started.html

I downloaded the Synctrazor program so that it would run in the tray, again I’m not sure what the equivalent/if this would be necessary on Linux.

No shade to the writers, but the documentation isn’t super noob friendly, as I figured out. I’d recommend trying to cut out all the fluff, and boil it down to bare essentials. Download the program (whichever one seems right for your device, there’s an app for Android) and follow the process for syncing stuff (I believe I used a video guide, but it’s not actually as complicated as it seems)

If you need specific help I’d be happy to answer questions, though I only understand a certain amount myself XD

FrostKing,

As much as I hate EA and everything they stand for, their customer support has pulled through for me on more than one occasion. Props to them

FrostKing,

You can right click on it to get a little popup with all the available options. This way you don’t have to play Guitar Hero for your spruce planks XD

9 days after writing in defence of a Free Palestine, Paul Biggar is dropped from his director role at CircleCI (hachyderm.io)

His original post , titled I can’t sleep, is some brilliant writing. When we talk about the chilling effect that criticism of Israel creates in industries everywhere (including ours) this is what that looks like.

FrostKing,

Genuine question: What’s this have to do with open source?

FrostKing,

Makes sense. Thanks!

FrostKing,

On a side note, my grandmother is always thankful when someone leaves a shopping cart by the parking space, because she leans on them to help her walk, and it’s often hard for her to walk the distance from the car to the stall.

Generally though, yes, return your cart psycho

FrostKing,

Someone in my family calls this “whispering explosions” which I’m pretty sure comes from something, not sure what

FrostKing,

There were still some okay shows on animal planet, last time I checked, when I stopped at a hotel and turned on a TV. They had a treehouse building one that was cool… Don’t know why it was on animal planet, but still

FrostKing,

I use Bluetooth headphones every day, for most of the day. Despite that, there are times where i forget to charge them the night before, or something else goes wrong, and I use wired headphones.

If I got a phone without a headphone jack, I don’t think it’d be much of a problem, until it is. I’d need it, and suddenly realized I don’t have it.

FrostKing,

Could you tell me why Capitalism specifically plays a role in it?

Not arguing, just curious

FrostKing,

So you would say a change within the system (whatever the system might be) is more necessary than a change of the system, because it could be a problem within any system?

FrostKing,

I was startled by how dated Zelda 1 is. I know, obviously it’s very old, but people talk about it as if it still holds up today… It doesn’t. Maybe I could try Zelda 2 now.

FrostKing,

Thanks a lot, I’ll definitely look into that!

And also wow, that graphics hack actually looks pretty good. I don’t tend to be a fan of pixel art graphics packs, cause they make them look weird and smooth, but that one is well done.

FrostKing,

Okay, perhaps not then. Thanks for the reply

It's never been a better time to switch to Firefox (www.androidpolice.com)

• Firefox offers better privacy and security than Chrome, with upcoming support for 200 new add-ons. • While Chrome dominates, Firefox gains ground with user-friendly browsing experience and open-source model. • Mozilla’s focus on user privacy and transparency challenges Google’s ad-centric approach, making Firefox a...

FrostKing,

Anyone who tried it a year ago, this comment is to tell you that Firefox has improved by orders of magnitude in the past year/years. I recommend trying it again.
