I don’t know if this is something people say in other countries, but in my country, there’s this common cliché or “wisdom” where adults will assure you that the people who picked on you in environments like school will universally develop lives of hardship later on, one way or another getting into mayhem....

You should compare by salary minus cost of living instead of just by salary alone, almost most places will be way lower than SF in terms of salary.

Another thing to consider is work policies and overall lifestyle of the people there and see if you are compatible. For instance it’s generally not ok to talk about work outside of work in the Netherlands, so if you are a workaholic it would cause some issues.

Because before you receive your money they give you a bunch of paperwork to sign as well as how you want to break appart the money you receive and you want to be 100% sure what to say and what to agree too in order not to be legally scamed out of your winnings. Then once you receive the money you will already have the necessary accounts setup in order to not only store said cash but to basically live off the interests for the rest of your life as well as pay the irs their dues.

I still remember when this research was in its infancy and religious folks were doing everything under the sun to stop it because it was playing God. Glad the research was never stopped but I feel like we would have been further ahead on the research if it wasn’t for religious zealots
