ImplyingImplications,

So his father dies and he asks his school for counselling and they respond by calling the police who lock him in solitary confinement and CPS threatens his mother with taking him away?

ImplyingImplications,

The centrists has their basic needs met and isn’t part of a social group that is threatened so they see both as a waste of tax spending.

I wanted to make a chemistry pun but all the good ones argon

ImplyingImplications,

Gary Bowser wrote a blog about modding electronic devices, many of them Nintendo consoles. He made around $1,000 a month. He was put in prison and ordered to pay $14.5 million for violating Nintendo’s copyright. He worked a prison job and the money he earned went to his multi-million dollar debt. So far that is $175. I wonder why Gary couldn’t just say “oops can’t afford that! Maybe reduce it to $100,000? Thanks!”

Moms for Liberty Completely Collapses in Former Strongholds (newrepublic.com)

Moms for Liberty experienced a meteoric rise at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, as local chapters sprang up to push back against coronavirus restrictions in schools. The organization soon expanded to pushing book bans and opposing discussion of LGBTQ issues and race and diversity in classrooms, prompting the Southern Poverty...

ImplyingImplications,

I wonder why the sudden loss of membership?

But on Wednesday, the Brevard County school board held a meeting, in part to discuss a challenge to the books The Kite Runner and Slaughterhouse-Five. Only one Moms for Liberty member showed up. All the other attendees spoke in favor of keeping the books on the shelves—and heavily criticized the parental rights organization. One attendee compared “the growth of the Taliban and its repressive autocracy in the name of religious nationalism” in The Kite Runner to “the rise of parental rights groups that want to limit what students learn.” The Moms for Liberty member did not speak and eventually snuck out of the room. The books were not banned.

Oh, they didn’t like being outnumbered at meetings! It just goes to show that when more people participate in local affairs it silences the extreme voices. Political apathy is dangerous.

ImplyingImplications,

The more you read the article the worse it gets.

  • A 16 year old died while cleaning a machine.
  • local laws prevent anyone under 18 from working with machinery
  • This is the third person to die at this factory in 3 years.
  • there have also been 3 amputations and a hospitalization from a severe fall in the same time period
  • all of these violations have amounted to $212,000 in proposed fines from OSHA

I cannot comprehend how a company can have multiple deaths, amputations, and severe safety infractions in a few years and only face a small amount of proposed fines.

He’s doing the typical conservative move of saying one thing to reporters and then his office releasing a statement saying another. That way the people who don’t like porn can refer to his answer to the question and those who do can refer to his office’s statement.

You’re buying pornhub premium, aren’t you? Unfortunately, I also wanted to buy something from a site that only took crypto as payment.

I ended up creating an account on Coinbase, which required a whole bunch of personal information from me. That was very concerning, but they seem like one of the few crypto sites that aren’t totally shady. It’s apparently a law they must follow to tie my personal information to all my crypto trades to prevent crime or something. After they verified my government IDs and bank account details, which took a day or so, I was authorized to buy crypto.

I bought the exact amount I needed. It took about 35 minutes to confirm the transfer, and only then did I realize coinbase takes a fee, which means I actually had less than I needed. I buy slightly more crypto, wait another 30 minutes for all the super cool futuristic cryptoblock hashing to be completed, and now I finally have enough crypto to buy that $20 thing I wanted.

I tell coinbase to send my 0.0000018364929038484920385 coins to xhfhfosnjwifbgnsoahdbfiaojdbfidhsbdmfodhsbd and the site eventually confirms the transfer after yet another 30 minutes of hashblocking.

It took me about 2 days and $30 to buy something for $20 using crypto, and I have never hated crypto bros so much ever for believing this is how all payments will work in the future.

Edit: I forgot to add that ever since then I receive a dozen crypto scam emails a day.

I don’t got an app recommendation, but I just wanted to say that losing money playing mahjong is a time honoured tradition.

The ticket is an offer for you to defend yourself in court. Declining that offer is equivalent to pleading guilty in most places.

The company said that the times between engine start and engine stop constituted a driver’s work hours, but that the men had logged on their timesheets that they started working before turning on their trucks and kept working after they turned them off. Thus, they have committed time theft.

“I disagree,” Carmody wrote in each of the cases. “A driver’s shift does not start when the driver starts the engine, and it does not finish when the driver turns off the engine. The driver must report to the yard, receive and review their delivery assignments, plan their route and conduct a pre-trip inspection.”

The men also all recently left the company after their complaints to the province of not being paid overtime went nowhere. They say this lawsuit is retaliation for demanding fair pay. The court couldn’t decide on whether or not that was true, but said it wouldn’t change the ruling either way.

keeping them around

It’s rare for employees to move companies in Japan. A lot of people will work for the same company their whole life. Japanese companies aren’t really known for treating their employees well either.

I’d guess what they’re doing well is hiring employees that are very passionate. I hear the anime industry is the same in that people who are in it are willing to work themselves to death because they want to work on big name projects

Just for a bit more context. It was a 17-year-old who killed an 11-year-old and wounded seven others before killing himself. Trumps entire comment was

It’s just horrible – so surprising to see it here. But we have to get over it. We have to move forward.

The only thing separating modern man from caveman is education, and that explains an awful lot about the world.

Mao’s government caused the death of 40-80 million people, so I wouldn’t say it’s the exact same as having your “Jews control the media” post deleted.

Why Are Rap*** & Ped** Protected In Jail?

It’s actually sick, they already get a light sentence and also getting protected by the justice system while the victim they violated is heavily traumatized, probably for life.
