@LEA86@mastodon.social

My initials are LEA, I intentionally picked a name where the initials match the respective x86 assembly instruction. I'm a tea sipping witch, dark psychology enthusiast, electronics tinkerer, car enjoyer, computer security researcher and software reverse engineer. I live in cyberspace and the shadows of reality, and of course dream in assembly instructions and hex opcodes. I fit in with nobody, conform to nothing, modify myself on the fly, and am generally limitless.

Because of the current issue with Bing that affects DuckDuckGo and Qwant, I did a "research" (5 min look into https://alternativeto.net/software/google-search/?license=opensource ) and found Searx and Searxng. I'm giving a try to Searxng, so far so good finding issues with Ubuntu 24.04 and Wayland. But I keep thinking that there should be a federated way to search the Internet

We need something un censored except for illicit material. It should have information from the entire extent of the political spectrum. It should also not censor non-political stuff at all, many search engines hide what is not in their operator's picture of an "ideal citizen". Federated search would allow fediblocking of search indexes with stuff the frontend operator doesnt like and would effectively become community-censored garbage.

What is your dream road trip? Where would you start? Where would you end up? What stops would you make along the way? It can be short or long, whatever interests you!

Me personally I just wanna spend a lot of time going to and hanging out in random locations in the US relevant to some deep, dark rabbit holes I am into. Especially wanna go to places where the separation of our reality and whatever is beyond death is a bit flimsier/thinner/looser than in usual situations. If I ever have unlimited spending money in my lifetime I'll do stuff like this alongside kitting out a luxury 3 story remote witch house and hacking den combo building.

I’m so glad public libraries already exist. Could you I magine trying to sell the idea of libraries to politicians in 2024?

“You want to build a large public complex on prime real estate that gives away free books & education & community events—paid for by our tax dollars? Are you crazy??”

LEA86,
@LEA86@mastodon.social avatar

@QasimRashid The internet is better especially when you are good at finding obscure book PDFs and EPUBs for personally relevant stuff that doesn't fit what any political side deems is good for the "ideal citizen"

I spotted this car on the road, and my daughter asked why I thought it was cool. After I explained, she said, “Why would a company name a car 9/11?”

@siracusa
Cause if you have too much fun with it and crash so hard you die, people will call 911 lol

OH: "this is how you get people to not reverse-engineer your shitty app: you write it in Go. you've done it. you've deterred me. I'm gonna **** myself"

Oh I love how people think mid-grade control flow obfuscation on Android apps helps shit, or putting the DRM in some simple code in native libraries.
