  • Lojcs,

Tsacdop for podcasts. It has many bugs but its ui is the best among the Foss podcast apps I tried.

    Lojcs,

I didn’t use it, bit I did install it when picking an app. Its ui didn’t feel as good to me as tsacdop did, so I uninstalled it

    Lojcs,

So this is why steam has been super slow

    Lojcs,

Why would they strip mine earth when there are so many other planets around? There’s no point

    Lojcs,

Why would they send a probe to inspect ships from a visible distance? They could fulfill all their curiosity from lightyears away

    Lojcs,

What would the point of that be? Just because something is possible doesn’t mean it’ll be done.

And do probes flying around in navy training ranges make sense? If they wanted to be visible they would be. If they wanted to hide there wouldn’t be footage of them.

    Lojcs,

Nobody was ‘depending’ on this. Having a minute’s notice to duck and cover is in no way a remedy if your irresponsibly built home is collapsing under your feet and there was nobody pretending it was.

Also, would you install a government app that constantly tracks your location and movements in the background for “earthquake detection”? Even if it only does what it says it does, it’s hard to belive it could match Google’s solution in accuracy, speed or battery consumption.

    Lojcs,

Does dark matter clump up like normal matter? I thought it was a lot smoother so wouldn’t create waves of relevant size.

    Lojcs,

SA seems to want to be the esports hub, not game making hub. Having to travel to SA to participate is absolutely a bigger danger than playing games produced by tencent

    Lojcs,

Why do they keep introducing anti-privacy laws under “child protection”? Do they think people forgot that they did the same thing just a year ago?

Also “controversial topcis” my ass. They realized internet isn’t making kids apolitical on its own so they decided to force it.

    Lojcs,

What does this have to do with programming?

Solar cycles repeat every 11 years 5-25 years. It’s not a situation where the sun will give off more and more heat for a long time. For the purposes of climate change, effects of the hot cycle is miniscule compared to what greenhouse gasses do.

    Lojcs,

It has an antigravity plate, you’re all set /s

Ubisoft Can Delete Inactive Accounts, Making Users Lose Access to Their Games (gamerant.com)

In a response to a post from the AntiDRM Twitter account, Ubisoft Support has clarified that users who don’t sign in to their account can potentially lose access to Ubisoft games they’ve purchased. The initial post from AntiDRM featured a snippet of an e-mail sent to a user from Ubisoft notifying them that their account had...

    Lojcs,

10 doesn’t have a c. 9 is about account termination and has a c but there’s no mention of account deletion due to inactivity. “[if] Valve ceases providing such Subscriptions to similarly situated Subscribers generally” can be interpreted as encompassing subscribers that have been inactive, but it sounds more about when a game’s servers shut down or valve stops distributing it in a region and all players lose access.

    Lojcs,

Does this apply to games purchased on steam as well? Bs

    Lojcs,

Search the full link or the full community name, that’ll sync it

    Lojcs,

They could probably just move the instance to the new domain name.

What type of game do you want to play that doesn't really exist?

Have you ever played a game and wondered what if you could do something that it doesn’t really allow you to do, for example being able to move around blocks in Minecraft fluidly instead of in sectors, edit the world in Hogwarts legacy with spells, be able to fly in a world like Elden Ring or Elder Scrolls with epic sky...

    Lojcs,

Some sort of 3d action game that splices its music to sync its beats to the action.

    Lojcs,

Median can also be called average. Average doesn’t strictly mean mean

Italy begins stripping lesbian mothers of their parental rights (www.lgbtqnation.com)

While same-sex civil unions have been legal in the country since 2016, same-sex couples do not have the right to adopt, thanks in part to opposition from the Catholic Church. Surrogacy remains illegal in Italy and there are restrictions that prevent the adoption of “stepchildren” by one parent. Medically assisted...

    Lojcs,

I find it weird that being coastal and in the middle of progressive Europe, Italy is still conservative.

Why is the cutscene/FMV problem in Linux gaming so difficult to fix?

I see it a lot in visual novels, older PC games and PC ports of older non-PC games. It sounds so trivial on paper, like… just play the video? But I know it’s not. Why though? Can we ever expect the problem to be fully solved? Right now it kinda seems like an uphill struggle, like by fixing cutscene playback in one game...

    Lojcs,

Considering that windows doesn’t even have a free h.265 software decoder to use in its video app, it’s hard to believe that it might support codecs obscure enough to not have open source decoders even in GE proton. Thanks for the reply tho

    Lojcs,

If the codec was included in the game you wouldn’t need to pay to use it. It was already paid by the developers.

Edit: not to mention modding games is legal in most cases
