@simonwood It seems unlikely that the ride I was on required any human intervention. Particularly on the last ride, which was the longest, I was able to watch the computer’s input screen. It wasn’t confused or hesitant. I doubt it was using human assistance.
@simonwood I think you’re splitting a hair that isn’t a hair.
Tesla’s FSD mode doesn’t work. There a lawsuits flying that “full self driving” doesn’t fully self drive. (Merits of cases TBD) Tesla’s defense is “we told you that.”
But their plan is that it will, and Musk is making noise that it’s ready.
But, for what it currently is (flawed and not truly Full Self Driving) it does operate on all road types.
@simonwood I wouldn’t question the accuracy of the article over it. from context that’s clearly what he meant.
And… It does, but it doesn’t.
There are people using FSD right now. They pay to be in the beta test program with their own cars. And, under the software license terms, they’re not allowed to use it without being in control of the car.
But they do. Mainly because many Tesla owners are big pricks.
And it does not work well enough to be considered “working” as full-self driving.
@simonwood you could call it either of the genius or the absolute depravity of moral responsibility that Tesla has basically taken at technology, which is not legal on the streets and rolled it out to Tesla owners willing to put a $10,000 fee and/or $200 a month so that they can test this software for them.
Tesla’s hope is that they can avoid the liability for putting something illegal on the street by telling the users they can’t actually use it without acting as human driver.
When many people think of #Phoenix, they think of endless suburban sprawl. And, certainly, that’s part of the story. But here’s something that many are surprised to learn:
Four of the five largest city parks are located in metro Phoenix
@ianRobinson In the US, I need to pickup Willow every summer to catch the IPL, The Hundred, (this year) the T20 WC, (maybe the MLc), some of the Big Bash, misc other matches… then I let it go again as the season ebbs.
