Seriously, I am not a fan of holidays, most are a waste of time, but a few have a nice sentiment behind them, and we all need a day off work now and again.
But if it doesn’t get you time off from work and doesn’t have any significance or sentiment, I’m baffled.

Decided to snag one of these Anker 548 power banks for weekend camping trips, primarily for when I want to charge my laptop (I always have visions of writing in the woods) which requires a higher output than all but one of our existing battery packs.
The drain hose on my washer has finally rotted away and cannot be MacGyvered anymore. I said, “How hard can it be?”
The hose snakes all the way from the back of the unit to the front, meaning you have to remove both the back and the front. To get to the front, you have to remove the top, the soap dispenser, the filter assembly, the control panel assembly, the door seals, the door, the unit up 45 degrees on its back feet, and finally, the front.
I was dreading removing the seals because they looked finicky, and once you busted the seals, your problems multiplied exponentially.
But when I got to the control assembly and had to stick my hand into the unit to disconnect the wires right next to the two giant capacitors, I said, “fuck it,” and called a technician.
Sitting at my desk just now tidying up and outside I see a woman runner, totally decked out, Air Pods, Nikes, fancy long distance running vest, stop in mid stride and suddenly look down, then look around, then down again. I’m thinking is she okay? Did she hurt her leg or something? I start to stand up as she basically collapses to the sidewalk on her knees, and I realize she’s TAKING A PHOTO OF A SNAIL.
I mean I don’t know her but she is clearly a quality individual with excellent priorities.

I’m going to rejoin the local cricket club as a non-playing member.
Playing again would be madness. Watching from the bar with a pint is much more sensible.
I might also join the NICSSA Chess club in addition to the cricket club.
They also have other clubs such as rugby, hockey, tennis, football, athletics, archery, fencing, bowling, squash, table tennis, golf, and rambling. 14 different clubs in total. The rambling one might be worth looking into as well.
