Finally! Not the best game ever made, but one I really enjoy nonetheless.

I can’t wait to play it again: having left my Steam library behind it’s always a struggle not being able to replay some games missing on gog.

It seems Reddit is removing it from everywhere, even the one in pcmasterrace got nuked. It would be interesting to know the reason, but we all know how transparent Reddit’s sitewide moderation policies are.

To give a really short and unworthy TLDR Madison was an employee of LMG and have shared her - honestly abysmal and abusive - experience working there.

I think Reddit might have automatically taken it down based on user reports and the content policy due to this part being taken NSFW?

I genuinely have no idea. Not even the mods there seem to know, but it was brought back, so maybe an error - or automatic script - of some kind? I fear we’ll never know.

Thank you! I read most of it in snippets but this is much easier to follow. It’s so terrible and was what prompted me to unsubscribe.

You are very welcome. I can only hope that the current visibility of her story will help others, in similar situations of distorted power dynamics, understand that what they are living is nor normal nor acceptable, and give them the courage to right it.

Using the site search with duckduckgo it gives the same link that goes nowhere, so probably there was a repo but it got taken down? I’ve no idea.

I feel that your post is belittling a situation that, as narrated, is straight up mobbing and bullying, only acknowledging it in a small paragraph which I feel boils down to a dismissive “awful but only maybe malicious, probably just lack of oversight”, while the rest of your comment tries to find excuses and normalizing something that is not.

Are nor normal nor acceptable: for anyone who is in a corporation where this is common place: take a step back and understand that it is not healthy for you, bad power dynamics are a real thing and the abuse of them sometimes can feel normal, especially in small businesses that get a sudden explosive growth. And I don’t even want to go into her self harming to get a day off.

You can say it was probably a single person, but the lack of action by management with phrases like “change your priorities”, “put on your big girl pants” and stuff like that makes it a Company issue, Company which indirectly accept and endorse that kind of treatment: they being so against unionizing sincerely gets a whole other meaning read under this light.

The notebook case is self evidence of it all: A small thing that normally wouldn’t be anything important, but compounded with the stressful environment got emotionally distressful. The fact that such a small thing has stayed with her so long should tell you that she was really not in an healthy mental state.

I don’t personally care about the whole LTT fiasco, as an uninterested spectator it’s fun to watch from the outside and then change channel, a blip in the media world that will most likely blow down in a couple of weeks. But reading how these actions are belittled is really distressing. Bullying is not normal, and it should never be accepted. Ever.

Piped is currently generally broken: issue#2809

Other similar services had to patch too, because of changes on Youtube’s side. So now Piped works only some of the times, until it will get updated.

Reading the full thread was stressful enough, I don’t even want to image what it was like to live it.

Now I understand why the company is so against unionizing, all this stuff would pretty quickly explode in their face. It’s straight up abuse that should be met by the full force of the legal system.

What the fuck is wrong with people that makes them think that if you have the smallest modicum of power over someone else it’s your god given right to be an asshole, a sexual predator or just generally toxic.

I don’t get it.

Devo esser sincero, inizialmente, leggendo la tua risposta, l’avevo intesa come un classico “io son meglio”, non volta ad apprendere, ragionare o migliorare la conoscenza di un neofita in Rust - modo in cui sembra trasparire tu mi consideri.

Avevo scritto una risposta difensiva e probabilmente anche piccata, dove snocciolavo le mie scelte nell’ottica di una discussione educativa per principianti.
L’ho cancellata, ma voglio comunque trattare due punti che hai sollevato, facendolo spero in modo neutro.

Il primo riguarda in generale i contenuti: considero i tuoi appunti - ad eccezione dell’uso di pedantic che specialmente un neofita non dovrebbe toccare - sostanzialmente corretti per un programma di queste dimensioni, anche se a tratti pure a questo livello opinabili (non separare l’architettura in moduli, non usare anyhow e thiserror), specialmente se si vuole espanderlo in qualcosa di più utile. Una buona base aiuta una buona crescita.

Il secondo invece riguarda questa frase, che reputo incredibilmente conflittuale con il solo scopo d’esserlo:

L’unica risposta che posso darti è che hai ragione! Ma il costo del servizio non è fra le motivazioni per cui io al momento non ho un account che posso usare per queste cose.
Nota, anche, che non era mia intenzione far intendere di non avere un account, anche se capisco come possa esser interpretato in quel modo. Ma questo è secondario: non ho parlato di motivazioni (o scritto scuse), quindi non capisco come tu possa trarre conclusioni al riguardo.

Sì, son perfettamente d’accordo che l’idea sia fattibile - specialmente considerando, come fai notare anche tu, che non è assolutamente nuova in altri campi, ed ha già prodotto anche recentemente dei risultati.

È solo come il tutto viene presentato nell’articolo - che lo fa quasi puzzare di marchetta e fuffa - che mi fa un po’ storcere il naso. Volevo solo far presente che la prima impressione non è affatto rosea.

Sanità pubblica italiana

Domanda per chi si è imbarcato in questa impresa. Quale è stato il periodo piú lungo che avete dovuto attendere? In particolare con priorità bassa. Chiedo perchè sono rimasto di stucco ricevendo nel ultimo mese (con impegnativa) più volte la porta in faccia sentendomi dire che è impossibile prendere una data, che è tutto...

Quale è stato il periodo piú lungo che avete dovuto attendere?

Un anno ed un mese.
Però con 180 - o 130 non ricordo - euro (per due, perché le visite erano tecnicamente due, anche se in realtà si svolgono nello stesso appuntamento) potevo concludere tutto in meno di due settimane.

Son così felice del continuo successo e miglioramento della sanità mista pubblico privata. Un passo avanti dopo l’altro.

In teoria credo esista un’agenzia governativa per studiare e monitorare la qualità del servizio regionale e i tempi d’attesa, ma credo tutti i dati sian solo pre-covid (ultimo report del 2020 per la qualità e del 2017 per i tempi d’attesa) quindi oggi giorno inutili.

Da come scrivi mi sembra che questi sian i tuoi primi contatti con la sanità quindi, per esser chiari, voglio dirti che fino a qualche anno fa le stesse prestazioni eran espletate nell’arco di due/tre mesi, è il periodo pandemico che ha completamente mandato in tilt il sistema, che già prima si sorreggeva con degli stuzzicadenti (e man mano stava già rallentando in modo critico).

Basti pensare che molte strutture ora non accettano neppure più il prender appuntamenti in presenza ma solo via telefono, con tutto ciò che ne consegue.

Trovo solo infuriante l’incredibile differenza dei tempi fra appuntamento “pubblico” e “privato”. Anche con tutte le scuse e motivazioni che i proponenti ci attaccano. Scuse che, in media, m’infastidiscono solo di più.

    Probably I’m getting this wrong but the moderator AKA @b9999998 was appointed at Monday, July 24th, 2023 at 12:56:29 AM GMT+02:00. the message about the defederation happened at Monday, July 24th, 2023 at 12:07:55 AM GMT+02:00, AKA before he was a mod (and the whole incident has obviously happened before the public message).

    So, if I’ve not misunderstood something from their messages in the lemmynsfw discussion, he was the one who added it.

    If everything until this point is correct we can say that the inclusion of “child-like” should have happened after the whole kerfuffle, and only because it was copy pasted from the dictionary definition of the word “Adorable” - which imply it as a behavior, I think? - and he was in the process of getting feedback on it.

    Did I get the times or something else wrong?

    I think you are right, I tried to check the times and actions and posted in a comment below what I did find. TLDR, if I didn’t get the times wrong from the modlog and the defederation post, and didn’t misunderstand something, the whole child-like thing happened way past the admins discussing the community.

    In the comment I’ve directly pinged the mod too, so in case if they want they can add to it.

    Sareste contrari anche ad un Bot che scansionasse ed aggregasse i dati pubblici dell’istanza? Non che abbia intenzione - o tempo - di crearlo, ma per capire le linee guida nel caso in futuro si presentasse l’occasione!
