  1. My 19 year old female cat had been losing weight. She was weighed at the Vet's today and she's put weight on. Her change of diet has worked. So happy owners and nurse.
  2. The rain has done my watering jobs for me.
  3. Just started reading 'Flirting with French' by W. Alexander. So far it's très drôle.

  1. Good report from the physio.
  2. The grey cat is purring to himself by my feet. When he is happy he is 100% happy - a ball of furry contentment. Cat purring is the most soothing sound.
  3. It's raining this evening, which is great for all the little plants I've planted out.

  1. The swallows are nesting in the old stable.
  2. Four swallows were circling round today.
  3. A wren is nesting in the holly tree. A good choice of home, well protected against predators and weather.

  1. Spectacular thunder storm. Good for my newly planted out vegetable plants.
  2. Tiny seedlings of honesty have all been pricked out and have pots of their own. Looking forward to flowers next year and those lovely silvery seed heads.
  3. Charity shop visit with several boxes of items.

  1. All my vegetable plants should be planted outdoors by the end of next week. This is rather early, but they are ready and it's so mild.
  2. Lunch out in a garden.
  3. Fluffy dog's favourite hill walk. While there we saw skylark, stonechat and red kite.

  1. Wildflower meadows. They are lovely to look at and good for pollinators and planet.
  2. The song of the chiffchaff which I heard while photographing the wildflowers.
  3. Found a young toad and a young frog in the garden. These are very welcome visitors as there are plenty of slugs for them to eat.

  1. The irises have started to flower in my garden.
  2. Short but lovely walk by the river. Stopped for coffee at a place where you can just sit and listen to the sounds of the river.
  3. My Honesty seeds have germinated! I haven't had any in the garden for years, so I will be pampering these little plants to ensure these grow into healthy plants.

  1. Just had my Covid Spring booster. Usually feel like I've got 'flu after this, so having a quiet day.
  2. Another sunshiney day. The flowers in the garden really love the sun. They are celebrating a few brighter days without rain.
  3. Spending time reading today. Will probably do the same tomorrow! Then back to normal activity on Monday.

Thank you for that Stux. Much needed information, the power/finance imbalance is not constructive, we need a level playing field financially. This would increase happiness and quality of life for all, not just for the few.

  2. Fluffy dog's 7th birthday. So she had a special walk in the hills.
  3. A dry week's weather is forecast so the decorator has arrived and the outdoor painting should be finished by the end of the week.

  1. Both cats are sleeping off yesterday's 'rumble'. So it has been a quiet day (after the 10am visit to the Vet). The grey has no obvious sign of injury, just a bit bald in places. The black and white is taking his tablets without a fuss and he is walking better on the damaged paw.
  2. The swallow is still about, but only one has arrived so far.
  3. Heard the first cuckoo very nearby.

  1. First swallow today, flying behind the house. Hope that it decides to nest here.
  2. The chainsaw work seems to have stopped. An Ash die back problem has meant they have had to remove the dead trees.
  3. The wildflowers I bought on Sunday have settled into their new home, no dead or drooping leaves.
    Hoping my grey cat turns up, he's not a wanderer, it makes it hard to think of 3 good things when he's missing. One more search before turning in for the night.

Not yet. One more try, then I'll put some food outside and water. He had a fight with my black and white cat, I think they just bumped into each other, they were surprised and then reacted. The black and white has a wound on his paw (he is going to the Vet in the morning, if the grey turns up, he will go too). The black and white has been very sleepy, I guess the grey may be asleep somewhere. My neighbour knows him and will look out for him. Husband is out looking now.

Husband has found him! He is now having food. Tomorrow the two naughty boys will be at the Vet's together. We have had a black and white stray round that has been fighting both of them. I think they had a scrap due to a case of mistaken identity. Who says cats lower your blood pressure! At least everyone can get some sleep now!

Just back from the Vet's. The black and white has lost 2 claws, and has one broken canine tooth. He is on antibiotics and had a pain killing injection, he is now eating his food so he must feel better. We can't find any injury on the grey one, but he lost a lot of fur and looks moth eaten. If he shows signs of problems, then he will be off to the Vet. Fluffy dog came along to the Vet's for the ride, the cat started crying and she joined in, it was quite a ca(t)ophony!

Our Vet's have a Saturday morning surgery, but they will be closed now until Tuesday due to the Bank Holiday. I rang for the appointment yesterday afternoon at 4pm as soon as I saw the fur on the back lawn! I guessed one or both would be in a bad way. They don't usually fight like this, the Vet said that the stray may be winding them up and making them more easily triggered. It's a truce at the moment as both are feeling sorry for themselves (and we feel shocked too).

  1. The electricity has just come back on after a power cut.
  2. My fruit cake finished baking before the power cut began.
  3. Checked my neighbour was ok. Like me she's puzzled by this as it was not a particularly windy day. Trees on the lines are the usual reason for power failures here. Anyway we had a chat which is always a good thing.
