Spent another week in Albuquerque, and finally was able to put a name to how the city feels to me now. Albuquerque feels like Austin did in the 90’s. Quirky and full of character, with its own culture that you don’t really find anywhere else. And it’s growing.

At a conference in another city. Today’s presentation was about how to be an expert witness and give testimony at a domestic violence trial. It was a good presentation but it’s not something any of us are ever going to do.

We got sent to this because we needed to spend some grant money before the end of the fiscal year. And the system is set up so we can’t use this leftover money to, say, buy furniture for victims who have to start over. Or help them move cross-country to escape.
