In light of covid, I wish my city (or any city really) had outdoor event spaces for medium-big sized cons. With built-in shade, pre-planned layouts with trash cans, maybe some counter tops, maybe half walls to create rows, drinking fountains, bathrooms, electrical outlets, etc.
Not just a big park where they shove a bunch of tents!
Briefly forgot myself and looked at instagram again. Saw a story which claimed that unless you’re turning yourself inside out with angst over this one specific thing happening in the world then you don’t give a shit and you’re just about making money. I think even Twitter had more nuance.
@aegir For real. And assuming that someone's entire thought process is visible to the public online is so ridiculous. A lot of the bullshit going on atm is stuff I talk about in smaller, personal circles. Not out where any asshole can jump in. You know?
@aegir The big big big thing I took away from my time with OBOD was the Prayer for Peace that basically focused you in. You started with your own peace, then you spread that peace to those near you, and through that the peace to the world.
When the world gets big and too much, I turn to me and mine. I take care of us, my home, my loved ones.
@aegir Yeah, it's been my mantra for many years now. I cannot fix the world. It's beyond me. But I can take care of myself, and those around me. So they can take care of themselves, and those around them. And slowly we can chip away at things by voting and showing up for each other.
Between the shitty migraine, the unpleasant #SquareDancing lesson earlier & Husband's general crankiness, I'm going to cry tonight. I think I'll take a shower after I eat something.
Saw someone on here the other day giving all the reasons they won't vote because all the choices are bad and there's no lesser evil and etc. Meanwhile, one choice for president will very definitely try to become a dictator while the other will not. So.
Recently picked up Phasmophobia. Honestly, it's kind of a perfect game for me. I love the premise, the game loop, the mystery. The match based setup makes it so freaking replayable.
Gotta say though... The scariest thing in that game is the economy. Even without dying I just find the cash flow is so freaking slow.
I see people with their fully decked out trailers and I can't help but cringe at the thought of them dying. They'd lose so much freaking money.
