Navarian,

You know it’s bad when the almost constantly unhinged ‘Empress’ is the one speaking sense.

Navarian,

Yeah, the fact that

Man who spent 17 years in jail for crime he didn’t commit won’t have to repay prison living costs

Is even a headline is absolutely beyond me – things have been getting pretty bad over here in the UK. This post would honestly fit in ‘NotTheOnion’.

Navarian,

!foss | it’s great for Free and Open Source software.

!plugins | Great for those looking for Lemmy Plugins & Userscripts.

!pcmasterrace | For all things PC and PC enthusiasts.

!til | Today I Learned, but on Lemmy.

There are many others, a lot of the other comments have provided community searching tools, so I’ll leave my contributions at these four.

Rumors suggest AMD might have canceled its Navi 41/42 high-end RDNA3 GPUs (videocardz.com)

It seems AMD might be shifting its focus towards the mid-range segment (once gain), with the introduction of a new successor to the RDNA3 architecture. This move would bring AMD back to its roots when the company prioritized the mid-range segment with RDNA1/Polaris.

Navarian,

This sounds like a win for a majority of consumers. There has been an overabundance lately at the high end range of the GPU market. They muscled back into the CPU market by providing quality and affordable units that rivalled anything competitors had on the market. They could absolutely do the same thing in the GPU market given the opportunity.

Navarian,

Pretty much this. People seem to forget that we few that value this level of browser privacy and security are an extreme minority.

The vast majority of users just want it to work, without error. Some don’t even care that much about it being fast or slow once they’re entrenched in the system.

Frankly I’m anti-lobbying, in an ideal world this shit would be illegal. But we’re not in an ideal world and this is not abnormal.

Navarian,

uBlock Origin forever and always. I’ve recently reinstalled Windows within the last 30 days and thus have a fresh installation of my browser and uBlock Origin – I have already blocked 609,521 ads, wild.

Navarian,

Great brief but to the point explanation, thanks.

Navarian,

Unsure if it’ll help, but you could try using the ‘Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool’ between installs, to make sure there are no remnants left.

Navarian,

Nor was she driving.

What’s the significance of this? Is it mildly less frowned upon to be horrifically racist if you’re driving?

Navarian,

Don’t forget Waterfox, privacy centric version of Firefox.

Navarian,

Good shout, I was looking for a comparison of the two, feature wise, but I couldn’t find anything substantial. Either way, the more options the better as far as I’m concerned.

What films are your favorite for cinematography? (lemmy.world)

Bladerunner (and 2049) has a special place in my heart. There are so many classics that stretched film photography. Lawrence of Arabia. Alien. The Cell. Night of the Hunter. Dunkirk. 2001: A Space Odyssey. Just to name a few. What movies are your favorites that aren’t as known?

Navarian,

Sicario and, to a (Much) lesser extent, Sicario: Day of the Soldado.

Directed by Denis Villeneuve, who also Directed Arrival, Bladerunner 2049 & Dune.

If you haven’t watcher either of the Sicario’s or those listed above, I would absolutely suggest you give them a watch.

Navarian,

This is the kind of shit that should be blasted all over the news, but you’ll likely not see much of it. Shameful.

Navarian,

Every now and then I come across something, where I have to stop myself from just immediately down voting as a knee-jerk reaction to simply witnessing it.

This is one of those times.

Navarian,

It’s a great little game with a surprising amount of depth, would absolutely recommend people try it out.

Navarian,

I’m inclined to agree with others here in the thread. I honestly don’t think this was an intentional action designed to tank Twitter. It may well be doing just that, but frankly, Elon has proven time and again that he’s a world-class idiot.

Navarian,

Would this count for OC? I write political journalism pieces that I post in a couple of different places here on Lemmy, for critique and of course eyeballs.

I wonder if I’m one of the culprits.

Navarian,

I’m all for pretty much all of these changes. The only thing I’d give feedback on is specifically this line.

Bots should not have a disruptive influence on a community

I think this needs a clear definition, before I can say that I agree with that.

Just my thoughts.

Navarian,

Interesting to mention the exodus, but not the place where a considerable number of those people ended up. Right here on Lemmy. Perhaps that’s for another article.

Navarian,

Aye they show that, and also the current one both in the article.
