Nah, even really smart people can be tricked by propaganda. Human brains love patterns and propaganda works best by shoving information into your face multiple times over multiple sources. And when you see things from multiple sources saying the same thing, you’re very likely to believe it.
The problem with AI CSAM generation is that the AI has to be trained on something first. It has to somehow know what a naked minor looks like. And to do that, well… You need to feed it CSAM.
So is it right to be using images of real children to train these AI? You’d be hard-pressed to find someone who thinks that’s okay.
Are there any guarantees that harmful images weren’t used in these AI models? Based on how image generation works now, it’s very likely that harmful images were used to train the data.
And if a person is using a model based on harmful training data, they should be held responsible.
However, the AI owner/trainer has even more responsibility in perpetuating harm to children and should be prosecuted appropriately.
What we discovered was the result wasn’t the prize; the prize was the friendship and the making of art for fuck’s sake.
Basically "the real treasure was the friends we made along the way.
I guess there’s something to that. People get so bogged down in the finish line that it’s hard to see the joy in every day. And I don’t blame them, most people are working so hard just to get by.
Would it be amazing if we had magic powers, could slay dragons, fly spaceships across the galaxy, or travel over mountains to find treasure? Sure. But if that was normal, it would likely feel just as boring as our lives now. So we need to try to enjoy the moments of our lives as they are because we don’t really get that many of them.
What “creation and self expression” means to corporations is micro transactions in the form of skins, textures, and single bits of paid content. Like buying a horse, then having to pay for the farming bundle.
