I only use brave at work because it somehow bypasses the firewall there and I can install and use it. I run it to watch videos about cooking or traveling and reading news when I have nothing to do at my job....
Brave do shady stuff to get money like change your URL to include a referral code for them, that’s not ethical as the “AI training models” they do with their search engine, I don’t trust them. All what you get with Brave you can do the same with Firefox. If you want to browse Tor on Firefox I recommend you using Firefox containers + github.com/bekh6ex/firefox-container-proxy and one container names Tor and proxy it to your Tor socket (should be localhost:9050) and done.
The norms say after you requests it, they have 30 days to send you a successful deletion of your data or request done. After your request they have 30 days, I didn’t read anything about “validate” it’s you. Only 30 days to successfully delete it, and that is how it went when I did request it.
Yeah, I already read it. I just doubt the lawyer could be so dumb to provide false evidences like this. But could be, yeah… but making false bills of expensive furniture would be more effective, saying there are more floors is too easy to prove it’s not true in a court…
Likely, the lawyer asked Trump, and given Trump’s tendency to be a liar, he provided false information to the lawyer. I feel like that is what happened.
Pretty much the subject line. uBO has successfully blocked the nag screen enough times that I can’t play anything at this point. No preview loads, and the play button serves no function. I’d really prefer not to have to find content on YT, copy the URL and use Piped/Invidious, but this ongoing escalation is steeling my...
If you don’t like ads just do docs.invidious.io/instances/ … every YouTube link anyone sends me I just put it with an invidious instance and there are no ads neither bloated frontend.
Isn’t the video saying that they are “toxic” because noobs asks questions without providing info? And that wastes their time? And if they don’t want to spend some time finding out by reading wiki + providing a full post of what they tried, the logs and info, those experts on Arch Linux aren’t going to lose time with them as they didn’t spend any time resolving or explaining their own issue… I think it’s pretty clear what the video says, if you don’t want to learn and be “independent” just keep with Ubuntu or Linux Mint.
My electricity company provider do the batteries “role”, they return me the energy I generated extra for free without charging the price, so I get back all what I generated when the sun is out. I think the issue is your government, greedy politics, here happened too, but it changed recently. That would make your inversion like half of what you paid for here.
You don’t need that, just stop using those apps… don’t install games or use your smartphone for gaming or social stuff. Smartphones are very useful when you are not at home and need to check your bank account, mail, GPS/Maps… 🫤
It’s funny this is on “Technology” topic and not just on “World news” or like that, like if this blog was related to tech… it’s like a clickbait deserved to be filtered, bad quality post from bbc.co.uk… not saying anything interesting unless “he’s on hospital”
At first, I disliked, but now I got used because it’s very fast and simple… I don’t think this is what you are looking (customizations) but just wanted to show this.
Ubuntu blog? GamingOnLinux? Reddit? 🤣 no, thanks. No Ubuntu, I don’t play games, I don’t like Reddit. The other websites I already do unless Explainshell which seems cool for newbies.
Ah! I just configured yesterday my router to block all the Apple tracking requests (via DNS)… My Android don’t have Google, so they are technically wrong, there is no Apple OS with no tracking (as it is closed source).
The new data — comprehensive and definitive — should put to rest the countervailing narratives over Musk’s management of the app. Under his stewardship, X’s daily user base has declined from an estimated 140 million users to 121 million, with a widening gap between people who check the app daily vs. monthly. X’s...
You can subscribe to news or to Lemmy topics via RSS, you don’t need an account unless you want to reply/comment/post. RSS allows you to subscribe on topic you actually like or want and ignore other stuff. Not having an account can help to be more productive and spend less time talking with others. I have not even a Google account so I can’t neither like or comment on youtube videos or other places that needs an account and I’m totally okay. My only social accounts are this and a Mastodon user I don’t use anymore as RSS is actually how I want to get the news or people opinions/posts.
Yeah, users that have bots already pays for it, now Elon Musk will need to pay their developers to avoid fake cards to be used by bots which will cost him much more money, and the result will be fewer users joining Twitter as not everyone puts their payment info that easily.
As far as I know, basic income will grow up economy as everybody will be able to pay their bills and later go to the bar with their friends. More money = more activity and happy people or life quality (depends).
Well, after watching all those videos, it was hard for me to keep working on my daily… I think if people realize what is a war and what they are doing… they would be more interested to resolve this conflict. But we live like in a bubble, and you need to work tomorrow and be productive.
what do you think of brave (browser)?

Was forced to use a third party to fill a rental application. The application failed and now they're demanding significantly more sensitive information than what I ever provided before they'll comply. In UK. This can't be legal?
