They were sleeping, completely unaware of people walking nearby ๐Ÿค— in the same park you may spot hedgehogs and water voles :)

When I was young there were dozens of roman snails ๐ŸŒ after each rain. Today I spot them rarely. I wonder what was the reason of their disappearance? People were collecting and selling them (to the French kitchens I suppose) in large quantities without any regulations in 90s, maybe population has been destroyed at this period and now it comes back?

SLEPLET: Slepian Scale-Discretised Wavelets in Python
