How do I view drafted comments? I tried posting a comment, but my instance had a hiccup and I ciuld upload thr comment buy it days it saved as a draft.
Opened a warranty request for a pair of wireless earbuds that started acting up. Despite having seen reports from other users with the same issue successfully getting replacements I just couldn’t do it. Today I finally did the thing.
Is there a way to just view the posts from the communities I’m subscribed to? I thought I saw someone mention that it was possible to make that the default view, but I can’t see anything in the settings which looks like it would do that.
Open the drawer, if using drawer navigation or the bottom bar if using bottom bar navigation and tap explore, then you’ll see subscribed and local are options, you can tap the three dots next to each to make it the default.
How do I change the text size for posts when I have my view type set to Compact or List? Slides type, for example, has a “Selftext Font” option that allows you to change this. There doesn’t seem to be one for Compact or List view types. Am I missing something?
I’m not sure if you’re using bottom navigation or not but I am and it adds a little red bubble with a number to the inbox button. I’m assuming something similar happens in the side bar navigation.
I mean they’re being really clear that they plan to basically do subtle griefing of other NATO friendly instances… They’re also fueled by misinformation and perpetuates it. Honestly the web needs a little censorship. I know that if I really wanted to see them they’re other instances I could be on. This one just cleans up a little better.
Printed up some Balearic slingers for some upcoming games. New resin which I hadn't dialed in properly, just pour and go. As such some of the detail seems lost, especially in the face.
I know little about 3d printing. I’m surprised with how many colors there are. I thought you could only print one color. Or did you color them some other way?
As frustrating as that would be, it wouldn’t be permanent I know they’re very serious with backups. A roll back is annoying but not really that damaging.
I leaned no one on Lemmy are as helpful as they seem. Nor as nice… I gave up on trying to run my own instance… My life is too busy and hard to find time for this anyway…
Not quite. From what I’ve read, I think only text is downloaded, pictures and other media are just links. So not everything needs to be downloaded. Also to trigger/maintain this connection (federation) at least one person from your instance needs to be subscribed.
But you won’t find this community in the search bar because you’re not federated yet. So to trigger the initial federation you’ll need to search for the full URL, the entire URL including “https://” (lemdro.id/c/android) It won’t show up at first, so try again in a few seconds, and sometimes you’ll need to try a lot of times if the instances are running slowly. But eventually your instance will find the other community on the other instance.
But at the time I’m writing this lemdro.id is apparently offline so it won’t work at all right now.
If you do decide to make them community I’d be happy to join. Or even help moderate it with you. I’m quite comfortable with Lemmy and moderate 5 communities with between my accounts. I also used to be a vegan and would like to get back there.
I've created two 2 instances and am admin of both. I'd like to transfer my account across or at least federate with all my subscriptions. It would take me all day to find all those communities again.
No I'm not sure at all but it's just so so weird! It's an old password that I shouldn't have used at all being so old and basic. It's just annoying typing in your password on Linux all the time lol
Yep. I just set it up. I've never done anything like this before and I was really worried about opening the ports up because I don't really know what I'm doing it's kinda my first time. Besides Minecraft and whatever.
For example, I was told to search for !catsubs from Lemmy.world in order for Lemmy to fetch it, but searching that using Lemmy search doesn’t work. What am I doing wrong?
When launching a new Lemmy instance, your All feed will have very little populated. Also as a small instance, new communities that crop up may never make their way to you. LCS is a tool to seed communities, so your users have something in their All feed, right from the start. It tells your instance to pull the top communities...
For example I found this funny ban on lemmy.world/modlog and wanted to share it somewhere. I also would like to hold mods more accountable. I suppose I could create a community. But I guess I just wanted to make sure there isn't already one....

Now that Sync and Infinity are out, which do people prefer? Also, how do they compare to the existing lemmy apps?
I have about 5 different apps installed right now, and while I plan to test them all out, curious what people’s conclusions are thus far.
