We’ve taken to given our cat his own bedroom as night because he drives us up the wall, leaping on the bed at all hours and howling for food from 3am. At first I felt like a bit of a monster, but last night I noticed he was hanging out in “his room” while we were getting ready for bed, so that made me feel better and we’re both sleeping soooo much better.

Think I’ve broken my boyfriend slightly… now that the nights are cooler, I haven’t been turning the fan on to sleep with and suddenly he’s having awful sleep. Last night it was a bit warmer, so I turned it back on and he slept so well. White noise ftw!

Was lucky enough to get the first place we applied for (and I know we are very, very lucky in that regard!!), but now begins the moving process which I hate so much. This will be my 8th move in 12 years and I haven’t learned to stress less during it. Coupled with this being the busiest time of year at work, I might just be a total idiot. But the place is cute and I’m excited!

Pup dog decided we needed some drama in our lives and had a fit/collapsed last night :/ ran him to the vet (quite literally, they’re just down the street) and he seems a bit better this morning. Back to the vet today for blood test results, but he’s lost weight despite a big appetite. He’s getting old and I’m trying not to think the worst.

As a result, I’m working from home while he snoozes on the bed near me and it’s peaceful and nice and I’m still looking for the positives!

The HR here can’t work out why I won’t jump through hoops for a bonus. We’re asked to come up with extra things to be doing for more money and when I said “my plate is full and my wage is fine” she got sooo mad.

I made brownies last night and they turned out pretty good, so I took them into work to share. When my bf messaged me to say he was having a shitty day, I packaged up some of the brownies and they’re now traveling via uber to him and I’m SO nervous something will go wrong. IDK. Shhhh, brain, just let yourself do something nice without freaking yourself out!

Edit: Brownie delivery went well! Yay!

I am VERY CRANKY at work this morning. Rough night sleep, lots of weird dreams, and just pushing myself a little hard for a few days. I need chocolate, a hug and to be left the fuck alone.

Tried to convince my manager that we should shut the office for the afternoon and go for a trip to one of the chocolatier places as a team bonding experience. It didn’t work today… but I’m sure I’ll try again tomorrow.

Saw the Barbie movie last night, mostly because I had no idea wtf it was about and wanted to see it before it got spoiled for me.

It was fun going out to the movies on a Wednesday night and I really enjoyed seeing groups of people getting into the spirit, wearing pink, having dinner with friends beforehand and whatnot. The atmosphere felt fun in the centre.

Getting my ass kicked by the flu/rsv/whatever else nasty ass virus is getting around at the moment. Have the whole week off and need to actually proper rest. Hopefully I’ll be doing a lot of bored shit posting this week.

I have way too many things to do, so of course I’m not doing any of them because I don’t know where to start. Small bites. Getting dressed is a good start. I’ve already scrubbed the shower and washed my hair. Dressed, dry hair, clean floors is next.

Quick stroll around the block to get some sunshine and holy hell did that feel good. Even managed to dodge the annoying neighbour, was fully prepared to fake a phone call upon approach, but she had someone else snagged. She’s a lonely woman with good intentions, but she drives me nuts.
