I realized that there is a lot less hate against Indians on Lemmy
Being Indian, it was a constant source of annoyance for me how hating on India and Indians was normalized, and almost seen as cool on Reddit. I haven’t seen it on Lemmy so far....

I’ve almost successfully convinced my girlfriend to ditch Windows, so I’ll probably install kubuntu on her laptop soon. She uses the pc only for very basic operations, web browsing, office suite and a little bit of gaming....

I don't think we should strive to have as big a userbase as reddit.
Many of us have seen it happening in the last 4-5 years. reddit subs, and reddit in general has become a bit s***. Of course there are still good subs, especially the truly niche ones can often have a small helpful crowd. But with 100s of thousands of users, some sub drown in hate and negativity....
