bingo, i made this meme while doing accessibility improvements at work

Strawberry,

CSS has always combined the styling and the logic for the styling. CSS selectors implement logic to determine where to apply styles

Strawberry,

CSS has a pseudo-class, :focus-visible, that matches when an element is focused using keyboard navigation. It also has :focus-within, which matches when the current focused element is the selected element or one of its descendents. However, this applies not only for keyboard navigation but also mouse and tap focus. A pseudo-class that combines the two, :focus-visible-within, would be useful, but does not currently exist. Here’s an article about it: larsmagnus.co/…/focus-visible-within-the-missing-…

The code in the meme implements the logic of :focus-visible-within using the new :has() functional pseudo-class, and has a snippet of fallback behavior for slightly older browsers

Strawberry,

im this case she uses male as an adjective, which would be fine for female too (“a female post doc”)

Strawberry,

with CSS grid, and now subgrid (finally, chrome), layout with CSS has never been more pleasant

Strawberry,

i may be mistaken but I don’t think it can be utilized to descend toward the sun

Strawberry,

It requires energy to shrink an orbit just as it does to grow it. Since we’re launching from Earth, we start with Earth’s orbit around the sun, and we have to burn enough to bring the perihelion of our launched child’s solar orbit to within the sun itself. We could use Venus or Mercury for gravity assists but the angular speed of the orbit does have to be mostly cancelled to hit the sun

Strawberry,

Yeah it just depends on whether the goal is to launch the child into the sun or just in an orbit with a low periapsis

well the other stipulation was that it has to happen from a single kick

Strawberry,

Fascinating, thank yoh for explaining

Strawberry,

CSS is great and every framework that tries to mix styling with the page markup needs to die

Strawberry,

Caffeine withdrawal can get more serious too. I’ve gotten cold sweats and vomited from caffeine withdrawal

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wage_slavery

Similarities between wage labor and slavery were noted as early as Cicero in Ancient Rome, such as in De Officiis. With the advent of the Industrial Revolution, thinkers such as Pierre-Joseph Proudhon and Karl Marx elaborated the comparison between wage labor and slavery, and engaged in critique of work while Luddites emphasized the dehumanization brought about by machines. The introduction of wage labor in 18th-century Britain was met with resistance, giving rise to the principles of syndicalism and anarchism.

Strawberry,

Y

Joe Biden is complicit in genocide and we should be honest about that.

He’s also likely a rapist.
