Uh-oh. Devout Christians on my FB page are PISSED that Trump is selling bibles. This is their straw. It will be fascinating to watch if its the straw that brings his run down. #bible#trumpbible
Here’s a sample:
“As a follower of Jesus I am both disgusted and offended that any politician would sell the Word of God to raise money!!!! How about it my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ? Enough is enough 😡”
@TammyGentzel Why? Were they angry when he held up the bible in the square, upside down or not? Or when he couldn’t cite to a TV interviewer a single biblical passage? Or when he claimed to like the old and new testaments equally? Or are they just annoyed with it being launched during Holy Week?
I did not realize Robert Kennedy, Jr.’s Super Bowl ad was a replay of an ad run by John F. Kennedy. I wondered about its retro feel and who it might appeal to. It seemed to me to be an incredible waste of campaign dollars.
Now that I know, I will say, “Robert Kennedy, Jr., you are no John F. Kennedy.” I can’t believe he would try to make the comparison.
@TammyGentzel
Additionally, I would think anyone who would be moved to respond to a JFK ad would NEVER associate his level of Democratic politics with an extreme dipshit like RK, Jr. People who actually VOTED for JFK are in their 80’s-90’s. (I worked on his campaign but was too young to cast a vote…min. age then was 21.)
@thepoliticalcat 🤗 We are in the middle of Pennsylvania safely tucked away from tornadoes, cyclones, hurricanes, floods, atmospheric rivers, and tsunamis. Our only exposure is very deep snow, lightening, and wind shears…both of which have been calm this season.
But I lived in Oakland when I was young and my parents’ dearest friends lived in San Diego. My grandmother lived on the coast of Oregon. I have seen what these storms can do!
I’m fairly certain I am now old enough to offer this advice: learn to trust yourself and how you will react to crisis rather than worrying about it happening. The first creates calm and self assurance. The second creates anxiety and fear.
