Half the time piped links won’t work for me and the other half of the time the videos buffer incredibly slow.

I always torrent large FOSS projects where possible. It’s faster and doesn’t tax the servers of the project.

That’s not piracy, though, so I’m not sure why it’s being talked about here…

I’m STILL insulted. Portrait videos suck to look at.

That’s because the anti cheat is running in a fake kernel with Proton. Developers have ways of detecting when the kernel isn’t real… Sometimes… But the Helldivers devs don’t seem to mind for now.

I’m really bothered by this line of thinking.

Just because something “looks” like it is a certain way doesn’t mean it is. For anything to be considered fact there needs to be evidence. The hypothesis that the Earth may have plate tectonics existed decades before it became fact.

This leads people to make connections between completely unrelated things, despite scientists, or professionals working in fields of science (i.e. doctors), saying, and often proving, there is none.

Hmm… Strange take.

Do you understand that it’s perhaps only the militant atheists that bother commenting on religious posts at all?

An atheist wouldn’t want to comment on a religious post to begin with unless they were militant, so you’re only seeing the militant ones.

What you’ve essentially done is look for whales in a glass of water.

Please be sarcasm… Please be sarcasm… Oh I pray to the dark void of the universe that this is sarcasm.

VSauce. They used to be THE shit years and years ago. Their content now has been… Rather sparce and uninteresting.

I don’t mind content that takes a long time. Ahoy and Lemmino are great. But VSauce just became… Feeling like a waste of time.

Well well well. I thought Russia said the nazis were in Ukraine. Huh. Funny, that.

Tattorack,
@Tattorack@lemmy.world avatar

Sure it can. But that doesn’t mean it is.

Oh I’m sure if you look hard enough you’ll find one or two nazis hiding anywhere, even if they don’t identy as nazi or even know what it means.

But Russia, with its actions, have proven themselves to be an imperialist, nationalist, fascist piece of shit. And while both could be true, actions speak louder.

You Americans can do with a little less gun rights. Might actually be healthy.

Oh, that is after getting universal healthcare and better public transport first.

Maybe then America might become an actual developed country.

I feel like the Steam Deck is the best proof of Gabe Newell's quote that "piracy is a service issue."

They could have easily crammed the Steam Deck full of stuff to make it hard to use for piracy - locking down everything, making it usable only to play games you legitimately own, force you to go through who knows what hoops in order to play games on it. That’s what Nintendo or Apple or most other companies do....

This was already proven at the height of Netflix, before streaming service hell.

So does this company actually HAVE a solid state battery or is this still all in concept?

Because we already know how amazing and good a solid state battery would be… When we finally get them. But the problem is actually getting them.

Unfortunately the article seems to be mostly talking about how good a solid state battery would be and not much at all on this startup actually having anything functional.

Elon Musk is getting a taste of how strong workers unions are in Scandinavia. I remember reading something about McDonald’s very nearly getting kicked out of here from Denmark because how it was treating its workers.

Of all thinks, why the fuck attack Blender!?

What, is Autodesk pissed at them for making an industry grade tool for free? I mean… I can’t think of any reason why there’d be a motivation to attack Blender.

I get a roof over my head and food… For free!?

The T-rex will probably die eventually from starvation… Which means I could lose my roof and free food. Biggest challenge will be trying to keep the T-rex alive…

No, no, and maybe yes.

There is no Marvel fatigue. There is no superhero saturation. What there is, is simply trash. Make a shit superhero movie and the movie will just be shit. It has nothing to do with there being superheroes.

Hollywood doesn’t get it. People don’t seem to get it either. But these phases are just repeating itself. It used to be cowboys. It used to be cops. Then pirates. It used to be sword and sandals.

Cowboy movies are fun. So are pirate movies and superhero movies. If they’re made well!

The moment some execs look at a bunch of numbers and think “Oh, people will pay money to see X”, THAT is when things go wrong. No, people pay to see good movies. And Marvel used to be hype when they made good movies.

They do. Or at least, here in Europe they do. Seems rather absurd there’d be a place where they don’t.
