I’m saying for me Mill St. is a locally owned brewery. There are others, and I do support them, but when you say support local to me Mill St. is included.
Because the US is a two-party system due to first past the post voting. Until the country adopts ranked-choice or single transferable vote, there will only be two parties. A vote against one party is simply a vote for the other party.
So by voting third party you are voting for the Republicans. Congrats on supporting the greater genocide.
Why don’t the democrats support ranked-choice voting, then?
Because they get elected by the current system.
What has Biden done to curtail the genocide of Palestinians?
Helped negotiate a ceasefire that Hamas broke, and has spoken publicly about Israel not doing enough to avoid civilian casualties. Not much I admit, and far from enough, but not nothing.
There is no lesser genocide
The US could send more money and weapons to Israel and publicly support the killing of civilians. So yes, there is a lesser genocide.
People abstaining or not voting democrat in 2016 because they were mad Sanders didn’t get the nomination led to a Trump presidency. It didn’t help make the Dems move more to the left, it didn’t help people get more social services. It just led to a vastly more right wing era that was hostile to minorities, removed many LGBTQ+ protections, ended abortion protections, and enshrined a corrupt supreme court for the next few decades.
But I’m sure you’re so happy to return to such a government to stick it to Joe Biden.
Do you legitimately believe Biden was the cause of it?
The US was heavily involved in mediating the talks, and getting the ceasefire extended.
sending Israel everything it wants
Everything the current administration wants. They could absolutely send way more if they wanted to, and the Republicans certainly would.
You’re happy to do your part in perpetuating it.
That would be you, because a Republican government = more gerrymandering, more fascist laws, more restricted voting, a more right wing judicial system, all of which leads to less ability to vote against them.
Congrats on being a Republican puppet, and making the country more right wing authoritarian.
IIRC they acted as a go between Israel and Qatar to enable talks in the first place, and they threatened reduced support if Israel didn’t agree to a ceasefire. But those articles were from a month ago, and I cannot find them now.
No, everything Israel wants.
Do you honestly think if the US was like here’s $100 billion more Israel would turn it down? The US could send way more money.
people like you will start fighting back instead of rolling over.
Ah yes, let’s allowing a fascist dictator with absolute power to rise in order to potentially start a doomed rebellion because I don’t like something the government is doing. You think 1 million Palestinians potentially being killed is bad, but you’re A-OK with starting a civil war that will result in 10s of millions of deaths? You really have to get your priorities straight.
the independents who didn’t fall in line
Them, I blame them. Sanders would not have won a general election, he is too far left for the vast majority of Americans. But the minority that did support him would have been enough to tip the scales in the Dems favor, allowing the country to avoid the ultra-right wing hell it now finds itself in.
I was going to use communities as my examples due to the relatively small size of each, but decided country was a better metaphor due to each instance’s ability to fully control their own rules or “laws”, where as communities in the real world are usually beholden to the higher laws of their countries.
nor would we have had the need to shut so many things down and isolate.
I’m not so sure. In my province we had very good mask use and vaccine uptake (once we could get them), but we still went back into lockdown, after our initial long ass lockdown, due to case loads still being too high.
Masks and vaccines did help of course, but are not a guarantee things will stay open.
Hamas has also stated quite recently their goal is the elimination of Israel by repeated terrorist attacks against civilians. So no, one should not support Hamas.

He said as an example against gravity being non-absolute was an example of imagining a universe with floating islands. But that isn’t a universe without gravity, that universe has gravity holding together the rocks of the, mountain and the planet above it. Sure gravity works differently than expected, but that is the theory of gravity, not the existence of it.
A universe with no gravity is one in which all matter just flies away from all other matter endlessly. No stars, no planets, no chemical reactions. And such a universe cannot exist with life in it, so you cannot logically imagine a universe with us in it that has no gravity. Thus we can know gravity does exist. It’s the how gravity works that is up for debate in question, but it does absolutely exist.
You’re too stupid to talk to it seems, because no where does he say gravity itself does not absolutely exist, but says that our ideas of how gravity exists could be wrong.
Which is just bullshit philosophical crap. In order to even have senses there must be gravity in the universe, so once again it is impossible to logically imagine a universe without gravity.
And as I have said before science is just a way to understand our perceived reality. If all our senses are flawed it does not matter because that is how we collectively perceive the universe, and that is what science is trying to explain.
I abandoned physics (I know more about our understanding of gravity than you do)
I took undergrad physics too, so doubt. And you’re still a lair, because you would have brought up your physics background way earlier in the conversation if it was at all real.
Tell me how a universe without gravity could exist with us in it then. Because that’s the bar set for whether something can be claimed as fact.
QM? Relativity?
Yep, covered both.
Why?
Because prior knowledge is relevant to any discussion. And I didn’t call you a liar until you lied about doing a double blind astrology report. I said you fell for the Barnum effect before that, which you have yet to acknowledge.
Why skirt that issue? Why refuse to engage with the possibility you fell for the Barnum effect?
I’m done
Oh please be true. Because you’ve said that half a dozen times now, and I’ve made it quite clear I would be happy for that to be the case.
Look in a mirror. You refuse to answer simple questions that are entirely relevant to the conversation, and are completely unyielding to alternate points of view.
And I type this from my lab waiting for a biosensor to baseline so I can do real scientific experiments today.
I thought you were done with me, or are you finally going to answer some questions? Cause I did ask you how you imagine a universe without gravity, but us in it could logically exist.
gravity is an illusion caused by all matter constantly expanding
That’s still gravity, that’s only a different methodology of how gravity works, but it’s still a force causing matter to be attracted to other matter. Try again.
You did not “tell me what it was”,
And yet you mentioned nothing of the sort until I brought it up. Yet it was certainly extremely relevant to the discussion well before then. In fact it was immediately relevant. So you not bringing it up until I mentioned it, means you are almost certainly lying.
Your logical process is profoundly wrong
Nope, there are absolute facts within our perceived reality, and you have done nothing to disprove that.
“You favor logic over emotion” and “You favor emotion over logic”.
Yet in the moment of getting reports with such conflicting statement people still cannot correctly ascertain their personal report. And giving the exact same astrology report to an entire class of students causes everyone to agree that the report represents them well, is evidence that indeed both statements can apply to anyone. They are not mutually exclusive, because no one is 100% the same thing all the time.
Your axioms are dangerously wrong
Yes, the acceptance that gravity exists is so dangerous!!! The world may never recover from me acknowledging the existence of a fundamental force in our universe!!! Whatever will we do!!!
and your reasoning is fundamentally unscientific.
Go ahead and write up a grant proposal saying you will disprove the very existence of gravity, and prepare to be laughed out of the room by every actual scientist there.
