I’m fine with this. The old model was great and unsustainable. They are switching with the explicit goal of not taking VC money, which is a good thing in any context.

Yup, these are the kind of thing that Ukraine has been using to destroy over a third of the tonnage of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet. Granted, the US’s CIWS is leagues better than Russia’s but it’s not perfect and these things are cheap enough that Iran can give the Houthi as many as they want.
