I'm wrapping up the development on the Petty Acts of Retaliation one-shot this weekend and I could use some help with codenames for the adversaries. Each agent of Babylon One is presented to the PCs with their codename, image, an Aspect, and one skill. The player answers two questions: "What did this agent to do piss you off?" and "What are they capable of?" Based on these answers, the GM fills out the High Concept, Trouble, and Agent Aspect (Proposition Player, Card, Deuce)-

Yesterday I was thinking how I really want a VPN tunnel to my home network while I'm touring in the UK this year, so I might need to run openWRT or some shit, and uggh I guess I'll have to learn about that, and then today my router says its new update includes onboard VPN client/server, and I just want to say I'm glad there were enough microchips in my covid vaccines that my WiFi can now read my mind.

@mc_frontalot I recommend @zerotier. With a free account you get a closed set of 10 IP addresses you can use anywhere. I have all my computers, my phone and my NAS on ZT and I can reach any of them, anywhere there's internet.

I have no problem starting a conversation with another professional at Comic-Con International, even one of higher status. The actual networking part, segueing the conversation to me is much harder.
This year I made these attention-getters. One around my neck and one on my backpack. I'll be a 21st century sandwich board. They're pretty eye catching. If I'm taking to someone and they don't ask, "What the hell is that?" Well, that's on them.

Finally, I took a look at NixOS, and the Nix package manager! And while I was very skeptical at first, after a week of use, it’s clear that this is an insanely powerful distribution, that is now at the very top of my list to replace Fedora on my editing rig.

@thelinuxEXP @nixos_org Being able to keep my laptop and my desktop environments in sync is interesting, but having multiple package versions installed at once is really drawing my attention. How are you storing/distributing your configuration.nix?

    Getting to they're word count of 40,000 with Fate was a challenge. My initial brain dump was only 16,000 words. I had to step back and think about what else the game needed a couple times, leaching toward 40k. Maybe that's a limiting factor?

    The one thing I've noticed is that if someone with an Italian sounding name gains any hint of notoriety in the US news media, there is always some sort of mocking of/play on the ethnic name, even from typical allies.

    Sorry, but this shit is eye-opening and gets old super fast.
