After a month delay and a unilateral conversion from "purchase" to "prepurchase" in the initial transaction and a second copy paste of the initial purchase invoice when I asked "when will they ship" rather than an actual answer. I've told to give me a full refund on my Moondrop Dusk .

Maybe I'll get a MIAD01 as a backup phone.

Amazon Prime Video subscribers are about to see even more ads. In January, viewers who didn't pay an additional $3 a month started to see commercials. Now, Amazon has announced that it's adding what it describes as shoppable carousel ads, interactive pause ads and interactive brand trivia ads. Here's more from Ars Technica. We want to know, have you, or will you ditch streaming services as they start to add commercials?

A new study from Microsoft and LinkedIn has found that AI usage in the workplace has doubled in the last six months.

The data comes from a survey completed by 31,000 people across 31 countries, which found that 75% of workers are now using AI as part of their jobs. Over half are using it for their most important tasks, but don't want to admit it out of fear it makes them look replaceable. Here’s more from CNBC.

After nearly 20 years of playing the majority of my games with xbox 360 controllers (first on the 360, now on PC) I'm finally forced to admit I need an upgrade. I've had some of these controllers for so long the housings have actually worn down. They're all on their second or third set of joystick sensors too. And it's annoying keeping up with rechargable AA batteries.

So, I'm looking for recommendations! I'd prefer:

Offset joysticks (eg, xbox) over symmetrical (eg, playstation)
Good, crisp input
Wireless, good range, either bluetooth or dongle (dongle slightly preferred)
Rechargable
Large-ish (I have fairly big hands)
Must work in Linux (primarily Pop_OS)
Extra back buttons are a plus!

I do have an 8bitdo Pro 2 controller, but I find it uncomfortable, undersized, and the d-pad is spongy. Cost isn't an issue within reason; I'd rather spend $75 on a really good controller than waste a bunch of time buying/returning junk.

Thanks for any suggestions!

WagesOf,
@WagesOf@gamepad.club avatar

@notthatdelta the ps5 controller is really hard to beat these days. The haptics are way out in front of the competition, it has gyroscope and a touchpad too.

Software support isn't plug and play tho. If you're not down for a little hacking then I'd hold off until the new Xbox controller with upgraded haptics and gyro drops this year.

I totally get that online services need to sell ads and subscriptions to make money. No problem with that business model.

But on the flipside, it’s particularly irritating when the ads are by the same service you’re currently using, entirely to disrupt your experience, doing a song and dance about how, ‘Hey, if you want to avoid ads for ourself like this, just subscribe!’

WagesOf,
@WagesOf@gamepad.club avatar

@reay you know what would be a great alternative? Giving you the same deal that the advertisers get.

It costs the advertiser one tenth of a cent to show you the ad. I'd be happy to send the website up to triple that for the service.

Unfortunately they offer subscriptions at 1000x the rate they get for your eyeballs.

The internet is broken, and ad supported websites broke it.

Apple’s “Let Loose” iPad event is just over a week away, and the rumors are hotting up on what we can expect from the new announcements.

The latest is that the much-anticipated OLED iPad Pro will launch with Apple’s next-gen M4 processor, and not the M3 chip that was originally expected. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says this suggests Apple will position the tablet as “its first truly AI-powered device — and that it will tout each new product from then on as an AI device.”
