Recent health stuff made me need a blood draw today. My doc sent it to a 3rd party lab, BUT apparently, that lab isn't covered by my insurance. The guy at the lab was super nice though and told me that it wasn't covered, and gave me directions to go to a lab that was 5 minutes away which took my insurance and could do walk-ins.
He LITERALLY saved me $1,175 on testing.
Very thankful that he cared, notified me, and gave me directions to their competition lol
@msquebanh it was so nice and like he 100% could have just had a big sale come though, but cared more that it was reasonable for the patient. I talk about bad healthcare people often, figured I should share a good experience too haha.
More documentary work done this evening! Making some momentum and progress after a week of health stuff and that makes me happy. Got to even play some more Fallout 3 for a bit! :)
Because I've turned boosts off for most of the accounts I follow (it helps with the floods of bad news btw, highly recommend!), I come across more of folks chatting back and forth, supporting each other, holding spaces for the tough stuff, and just goofing around.
It makes my heart so happy. Ya'll are just delightful human beings, thanks so much for uplifting my feed. 💖 🥲
Several of them will be done in a chair. Some standing & others are laying down. I don't see many exercise vids made by & for #disabled folks available online. I got frustrated, trying to find exercise vids, made by fellow disabled folks.
So, I'm going to stop complaining about lack of them. I'll start to create them, myself.
@msquebanh that sounds lovely and like it could really help a lot of people! Accessible & care driven exercise is so important! I look forward to seeing it!
when the insurance rep says "well I've never seen this before" and then is silent for a while and then lets out a deep breath before returning to silence 😬 😬
This guy I'm talking to is actually super super helpful and nice and dealing with a very complex situation and HE is great, the overall system, not so much (as we know)
Finally figured out this really complex situation, contacted the doc, they respond with "great see you in August" 🤡 🙃 (most of the frustration here is not at them, but instead the system, once again)
