@VirginiaMurr My grandmother also got a second master's. Probably in teaching. In any case I think the second degree was from Southwest State in Oklahoma where my grandfather was a professor at the pharmacy school.
He took the job without even looking at the place, just to get out of his job in D.C. in Veterans Administration management. :)
(But another reason I seldom saw my grandmother is my paternal grandfather could be unbearable. Not a pleasant person towards family. I think he had OCD.)
@VirginiaMurr (I have very bad OCD, but it is under treatment. And, anyway, I am too delicate to be that overbearing. Instead my problem is I make myself a burden.)
So glad the news keeps replaying ... over and over and over ... the crap Trump's sycophant surrogates were saying for him at the courthouse. (Read: extreme sarcasm)
It's a really sad statement about society that the refrain from today's Trump trial is how BORING the really important, yet non-titillating information is.
We've become a "reality-TV" nation in need of constant salaciousness.
It's gross ... and not a great foundation for the future of society.
If your response to finding out your boss is a vulgar sexual predator is figure out how to protect his job (or potential job) ... you, indeed, are a really shitty human. (re: Hope Hicks, Kelly Ann Conway, etc.)
So, all the pundits saying that Hicks doesn't have moral, reputational problems can fuck off.
The tornadic weather tonight across so many states reminds me of the year my family and I went to bed -- knowing there were some storms that were going to pass through, but none were expected to be severe.
Woke up to shit slamming into the house. It was a "straight-line" storm with 75+ mile per hour winds. (We made it to the basement and ended up being fine--thankfully.)
So, yeah ... have your weather alerts ready to go.
@GreenFire@VirginiaMurr Yeah I had almost said “hey he’s on mastodon too!” before realizing that was his threads.net account. 🤦🏻♀️
(I always check to see if if someone’s on Mastodon before pointing at another site, even if they’re not active on Mastodon but now I have to watch out for the threads.net accounts lol)
I knew a whole lot of people who purchased the National Enquirer ... KNOWING that the articles were bunk. They got a kick out of the drama and entertainment.
Welp. This is what they helped to fund.
Not just profiting from lies ... but other horrible behavior such as extortion (and, yep, election interference).
