Who wants to live in a “breadmasher” country?

Most people browse with Chrome and possibly with Google’s DNS, so this really doesn’t make any difference from a privacy standpoint.

Right, I forgot how odd it seemed to me to keep hearing “yes, master” in tcw… But “yes, mistress” still hits different

7 hours and I still didn’t find a good retort. Guess you have a point

Star Trek Voyager Elite Force.

I mean Mass Effect is cool and all, but Star Trek is Star Trek.

Okay, maybe Freelancer or DarkStar if you replace humans with aliens and headcanon them being some species from another quadrant.

[Request] How to get a tiny multitool past airport security?

First off: This post is about a tiny Leatherman multitool. Not a gun, not a sword, not something that can actually hurt someone. Just a small, harmless tool that is unfairly banned from planes because of onerous TSA regs. No one is going to do 9/11 with tiny pliers and a fingernail-sized screwdriver....

WhoRoger,

Get a multitool in a form of a credit card. Those usually go unnoticed, but no guarantee.

What are some commonly known facts that are too bizarre for you to believe to be true?

For me it is the fact that our blood contains iron. I earlier used to believe the word stood for some ‘organic element’ since I couldn’t accept we had metal flowing through our supposed carbon-based bodies, till I realized that is where the taste and smell of blood comes from.

The latest SDUC standard allows for up to 128 TB.

The aliens in the Three-body Problem trilogy are never described, but the unofficial sequel, Redemption of Time, retroactively describes them as bugs with some hive mind, I think. It’s interesting to go back to the trilogy with that in mind, as it really makes a lot of sense.

Dragon’s Egg apparently has some hyperintelligent bug-like creatures that live on a neutron star in an accelerated time frame. I hear it’s a good book, haven’t gotten to it yet.

And I think The Chessmen of Mars has some spider-like things… I.e. aliens that look like spiders with large heads.

Nothing wrong with wanting to see the world.

Ok keep sitting in your cave, garden gnome.

I’m a poor person, I know a lot about how food lasts beyond expiry dates.

There’s being overly afraid of going past best-by date, and there’s being stupid by eating 2 weeks old leftovers from the fridge.

After 5 days I wouldn’t eat anything opened or already cooked from the fridge that isn’t naturally preserved (like cheese or sour cream). Things go bad in the fridge too.

I’ve not tried 2 weeks old rice, and I don’t want to. You want to keep something edible more than a few days, that’s what the freezer is for.

You need to use lower power on the microwave.

This is behaviour that gets you killed. Musk may be rich, but not “weapons manufacturer” or “oil magnate” powerful.

I use Revolut. Anyone wants a referral code? They usually give some welcome money to those who sign up through referral (and kickback to who referred, obviously).

And I’m sure it will remain so cheap forever and ever, because Microsoft is just so good and generous, and definitely not giving away cheap subscriptions just so that people get used to the idea and become addicted.
