Thank you both. To Make Men Free is already on the way! I wonder if there's a similar book thay explains the switch but more from the perspective of the democratic party? Our conversations started when I told @Shunra that I don't understand how Dems evolved from being the party of the South to being the more liberal (in terms of human and citizen rights). She gave me most parts of what's written in your excellent summary

has anyone seen a really good analysis of the problems with git's command line UI? Would love to read it. for example:

  • git checkout is dangerous and has too many different jobs (though git switch is trying to fix that!)
  • for a tool that's supposed to make changes easy to undo, you actually need to learn a LOT of ways to undo

(not looking for git tutorials, explanations of git’s underlying model, or explanations of why you think git's UI is actually good, just an analysis of the problems)

    @louis you did right, as far as I am concerend. What does it mean to make sure that X can not interact? If they blocked him then he can not interact with their entire server by definition.
