I would be amazing if I could “Mac Mirror” from an iPad Pro just like I can from Vision Pro, but it would run from my MacBook sitting closed in my backpack

It would be the perfect portable computer on planes, coffee shops, etc where I’m more than happy to give up the big screen

@charliemchapman YES! And this would go a long way to quiet some of the concerns that don’t seem to go away, while maintaining the need to have both devices. (Which Apple seems to not want to limit.)

So say visionOS launches without the ability to download ‘key’ apps like Netflix, YouTube, TikTok, Google Docs, Gmail, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Ivory, etc, how excited would you still be for the platform?

iPad was bootstrapped off of iPhone's success, and there was no meaningful opt-out for apps so basically everything ran on day one, and there was a strong incentive for devs to port to native. Giving a checkbox to opt out of visionOS, though, I feel is going to prove to be a huge mistake

Do we know if we'll be allowed to finance the Apple Vision Pro via Apple Card? Some AI I’d love to see in OS 18 is automatically straightening the horizon in the landscape photos the Photo Shuffle Lock Screen finds.

After 1047 days, my AirPods Max might be dead. 💀🎧
They fail to connect to devices 80% of the time, often requiring 2-3 factory resets before repairing. Battery drain is also an issue; they'll drop 80-90% overnight, even inside their case.

@matthewcassinelli Curious if in your experience the Mac can handle the same number of widgets better? Can macOS even support more than one desktop worth of widgets? (I’m not yet on Sonoma.)

Although I want iPadOS to work well for everyone, the dozens of pages of widgets I have seen some trying to use does not feel like an expected use case. I’m also not sure it speaks to the actual “power” of the OS.

Again, I do want iPadOS to handle anything power users and average users can throw at it.

Using the 15 Pro Max feels so nice. It’s so comfortable to hold.

@imyke I have been using a Max size since the 12-series. I keep thinking that I mistakenly got a 15 Pro (non-Max). The size and weight improvements are quite noticeable.

@matthewcassinelli I’m using LockFlow to launch Shortcuts from StandBy mode. It requires FaceID authentication and launches the Shortcuts app before running.

Have you found a better way to trigger Shortcuts from StandBy mode?

If you're playing the game and taking notes, you have to try the TotK Travel Guide app by @jeffreykuiken. Great UI inspired by Apple Maps with a built-in note-taking system for locations in the game. Syncs with iCloud, has a single $4 In-App Purchase, and it supports the 3 different maps of the game. I love this.
