Home internet has a fault. It started at 12:16 today. NBN’s FttC NCD is showing that it is losing DSL sync to the DPU on the power pole in the street. Loss of sync occurs randomly. It has periods of stability (have seen up to 45 mins). During periods of instability it will flap every few minutes.

Spent more time in the roof space today. Two of the hardest drops are now done and ready for punch down. Have also finished hacking holes in the walls and installing the face plates in all the places. Hopefully do the last two drops tomorrow and then I’m just about done in the ceiling.

Does anyone here know of a good write up (technical and non-technical) about why #NBNCo service providers only advertise their 1gbps products as “up to”?

Providers pulled this shit well before NBNCo was a thing and the ACCC smacked them down hard.

Im not looking to get all worked up about this, im just curious what the underlying reason for the qualification is.
