Campoli Plays Paganini-Kreisler, Saint-Saëns (LSO, cond. Gamba) (1959)
When I'm not listening to reissues of 1970s soul jazz, I'm geeking over old London Decca classical records. This one was a thrift store find yesterday.

It's important to have a good sized bag that qualifies as a "personal item", separate from the carry-on bag. It's remarkable how much you can fit under a seat. 💺
So, I take a big duffel bag for the overhead, which I lay a sweatshirt across the bottom in.
I take the 10-15 records I usually find and wrap them in a pillowcase, and make sure they’re snug and secure, and then put the clothes I DIDNT leave behind and neatly elastic them individually, rolled up, and lay them on top. It’s heavy….but always the right size.
Been doing this for 30 years. 😂
Stanley Turrentine and The Three Sounds - "Blue Hour" (1961)
One of the crown jewels of the #BlueNote catalog has been reissued. I love my mono original of this, scratches and all, but this new stereo reissue is terrific. Ideal rainy day music.
I dragged my feet getting this reissue, but I'm glad I found a copy. Really tremendous record and a fantastic pressing. Significant Herbie Hancock presence on this recording
This is a personal holy grail, a record I've wanted for a while, from (perhaps) my favorite Brazilian musician. A lovely reissue of an impossibly hard to find lp.
