Has Torchy’s Tacos ever had a taco of the month named “The Grackle”? Just thinking of something Maciej Cegłowski once wrote about how tech companies have a tendency to name products after their worst externalities.

RIP Steve Albini. I never got into his music, but he sound engineered great albums from bands I love, like Pixies, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Mono, Low, and Flogging Molly.

There is a guy riding his bike around the neighborhood park while listening to a bagpipe edition of Amazing Grace on his phone, as one does.

They haven’t gotten to Gordon Ramsay’s disastrous grilled cheese yet.

You can use mustard instead of mayo in tuna salad and you can use mayo instead of butter on grilled cheese, so can you use mustard instead of mayo instead of butter on grilled cheese?

The Southwest Airlines checked baggage line was ridiculously long at the Austin airport today. It stretched outside to the rental car building and then zig-zagged around inside. Total time: about 2.5 hrs or so

I think the camera might have been a Graflex Super Speed Graphic? Clever of the filmmakers to avoid using an SLR in a vampire movie.

“average docstring has 3 tabs" factoid actualy (sic) just statistical error. average docstring has 0 tabs. TabChars Georg, who lives in cave & indents with over 10,000 tabs per docstring, is an outlier adn should not have been counted

was a 15” early 2011 MacBook Pro. It had the new “Sandy Bridge” 2nd gen Core i7 CPU, the first Thunderbolt port on a released product, an AMD discrete GPU, and the hi-res 1680x1050 pixel screen.

I upgraded the RAM and the HDD (to hybrid SSD) myself. I think this was the last 15” MBP you could upgrade.

The GPU failed w/pinstripe visuals. Apple replaced the logic board under the "Repair Extension Program for Video Issues". This bought it 2-3 more years, then the replacement failed.

I’m not a huge fan of Z’Tejas, but this recipe for Z’Tejas style cornbread is excellent. Today I made two cornbreads in cast iron skillets and they came out great.
