I don’t know this compares to the “traditional binder” you are refering to, or other binders you have tried, but I have found the “Becoming” binder from tomscout to be really great. The material is thin and can handle sweating without causing a problem. I find I don’t need to take too many breaks. The tightness is always a balance between flatness and breathing ability however.

For me when wearing an thin athletic shirt, it only shows along the trimming over the scapulas. Maybe with a patterned shirt it would be less prominent.

Recommendations for a more private US phone carrier

I see a lot of recommendations for various services and products which are respect privacy, but I don’t think I have seen any discussion around cell phone carriers (service providers). I am aware of some of the advantages of using VOIP as a phone service. However, if VOIP is not desired, what are good options for an US phone...

Best of luck! I hope DxE has a solid long term strategy for navigating the legal issues and also gaining public support. Otherwise people like you going to jail is not helping the longterm cause.

Well, aspartame is a sure fire way to give me a migraine, so I don’t believe your explanation.

blackberries33,
@blackberries33@sh.itjust.works avatar

There is no way for me to know if you are an expert or an otherwise trustworthy source of information on this topic. You are a random person on the internet, who did not cite any sources. I should not automatically believe any explanation you offer.

There is no need to be condescending.

I did not say anything about cancer. I said migraine.

Well, maybe typical for you and a subset of Americans. We wore shoes in the house as kids; we only took them off if they were clearly muddy.

Have you spent time in rural or poor areas or the US? Try eating the local food. It’s not good. As an american who moved abroad, I can say american food is just shockingly low quality. High fat and/or high sugar, lots of highly processed food. Very common attitude that “I have never and will never like vegetables”. I mean I’d expect some people live off a diet like sugary cereal, soda, milk, wonder bread, mac and cheese, mayo, ground beef, eggs, candy, fries, pizza, etc. Keep in mind the most common vegetable that americans eat is the potato.

That being said, it is absolutely not the individuals fault for being obese. I’m convinced there are effects that are hormonal, chemical polutants, or epigenetics that push the population to being fatter. The lack of education, and knowledge of how people live in other parts of the world does not help either.

I’m not sure voting by default to one party is a consequence of registering with that party. Maybe some psychological effect.

I’d say the main cause is the fact there are only two parties to choose from, so unless you are a moderate (or these days right-moderate) it is just a waste of time looking at candidates and their policies beyond party affiliation.

The related issue is this: in some places in america, the primaries are run by the parties. So you can only vote for canidates (within a party) in the primaries IF you register with that party. In some races the primaries are the important part, because everyone knows which party will win the main election, so who gets the party nomination is basically the undecided part.

So what’s it going to take to get a similar ban nation-wide?

blackberries33,
@blackberries33@sh.itjust.works avatar

My question was meant literally. I’m not asking what guns laws should be, nor how likely any new legislation is. I’m asking for a thought-out answer on what it would take nationally for a similar ban.

Thank you for your time in putting this together!

I think your priorities are in the wrong place. Some women die if they can’t get an abortion.

How to create an Element Room with configurations suited for my less techy family?

Could someone recommend how I could create a private Element room with settings that make it easier for my family members with less technical experiences to chat in while ensuring privacy, for example, disabling E2E & session verification etc. I am also new to this app and don’t know the way around it very much so I don’t...

blackberries33,
@blackberries33@sh.itjust.works avatar

I’m trying to do the same thing. I don’t know if the room settings need much tweeking. But the biggest obsticle is having family members download, install, create an account, join a space/room, and change app/account settings, without my physical presence to help them with the process.

I agree that the burden of the climate crisis should not be on individuals. However ideally, I would like everyone to reduce or eiliminate animal products consumption. It is habit leftover from times past, and today there are much better options for food, leather, etc. And animal agriculture really does have a large impact on climate.

Some reasons that people continue to eat meat at high levels is miseducation/marketing, convenience, and cost. These reasons could be brought under control by eliminating government funding for animal agriculture, prohibiting misleading advertising for unhealthy food, and shifting the healthcare system to prioritize preventative care. Unfortunately these system level changes are unlikely anytime soon, at least in the US. That is why raising awareness on the topic is important.

I don’t know the answer to your question. But I recently discovered the PWA addon for firefox, and it can accomplish most of what you are describing with the icons and launchers; however it’s not profiles, it installs certain websites as apps in a new firefox runtime, and only allows one tab open at a time per pwa.

Yeah, I did not know wayland was lacking this feature until recently when I switched to wayland on my work computer. So long as I know stuff won't be restored, I can plan ahead now.

Great for Carbondale. You're painting this as surprising, but calling Carbondale a small town in the rural midwest is misleading. Carbondale has always been far far more liberal than the rest of southern illinois, due to being one of the largest cties and the presence of siuc.
