Anyone have any favorite PeerTube instances they can recommend? My instance, Diode Zone, is going away soon and I need to find a new place for my videos or just let them exist only on YouTube
i've been working on a project with a Pico W and DVI output that includes weather data. we're having a thunderstorm so that means a rare appearance of the pixelated lightning bolt sprite
@gvy_dvpont "in this project, i'll show you how to control the weather with sprites!"
thanks! the dvi stuff is fun, highly recommend. easy to run out of memory though so you sometimes have to get a little creative depending on your plans
A narrative that has to be rewritten: the American South has great weather vs. terrible weather in #Boston. Have you spent Fall or Spring in Boston? Itβs glorious! Sure we have a small number of days in the winter where it rains while it is cold, or when there is slushy snow, but fresh snow looks truly magnificent. We live close enough to ski, snowshoe, and walking on a quiet winter beach is priceless. Whiners were never taught to wear the right clothes. (1/2)
@gallaugher@ecken can confirm this πΈπΈ we were just talking last night about how I was so worried how heβd feel about the weather but heβs been loving it
@gvy_dvpont when i was in the 5th grade i chose saxophone to try and learn thru school and my mom made me practice in the basement. i did not learn the saxophone
@gvy_dvpont the sax failure was more of a public school system failure. i've had many successful musical rehearsals in basements. if anything a basement is ideal
Still unpacking from Open Hardware Summit (both brain-wise and clothing-wise). I had an impossible amount of fun and was so glad to meet so many of you IRL.
Tried a new potato kugel recipe this year and it was excellent π₯ got nice and crispy and was a hit at yesterdayβs Sedar. Also liked that it didnβt use potato starch. Canβt go wrong with Ina Garten https://inagarteneats.com/ina-garten-potato-kugel/
Iβve had a cricut for about 2 years and the rubber rollers started to dry out and get super wonky. Iβd been dreading opening it up to do the replacement but I finally did it and it worked great.
Since starting playing piano again (after a long enough break the break could have kids in high school), Iβve mostly re-learned Moonlight Sonata (first two movements), Debussyβs Reverie, and learned 1st Gymnopaedie and Linus and Lucy (minus the jazz parts which elude me). What should I try next at this level? Iβve though about Claire de Lune, but I think that may be beyond me. #piano
@stoneymonster not sure if you're a twin peaks fan but recently i've been enjoying playing a few of the songs from it (main theme and audrey's dance). they're fairly straight forward technique wise but sound interesting
@stoneymonster but also i feel like based on the pieces you listed you could tackle claire de lune. i remember playing it around the time that i learned moonlight sonata
My office spent almost $2,000 on a pan-tilt-zoom iot camera for streaming earthquake press conferences, and it's never been used because it got infected with the Mirai botnet malware after they connected it to the internet.
I don't even see anything in the manual for how to do a factory reset so the camera can be fixed and used again.
@MLE_online all of your j0rb posts bring me right back to my days at my previous higher ed employer. we had so many situations where the tl;dr was a ton of money sunk into a piece of tech that was non functional for whatever reason
I replaced the display in my momβs stove this morning. It had been flashing and freezing randomly for about a year. This is apparently a fairly common problem with Samsung stoves based on what I found online.
