alright, finally updated my dev unit with the newer case revision, to match the updated production PCBs
(Printed in translucent PLA, with some honeycomb infill and some carefully-reoriented rectilinear top and bottom layers; done while I wait for the real polycarbonate cases to show up.)
On a related note: it feels really good to get the FreeCAD port (the source of truth going forward, shifting over from @ErinRose's excellent efforts in Fusion) done with reference PCBs, fittings, and fixings, with the technical drawings (to make sure the tolerances are dialled in) the only important part still in flight.
satisfying brain-scratching noodling from the weekend + earlier:
(I am very new at these, and am going to keep devouring whatever reference material and examples I can scrounge. Also, you 1st Angle vs 3rd Angle culture war people need to take a chill pill.)
PS: vaguely similar examples welcome; I've been cribbing from diagrams that come with enclosures people sell, and a bunch of unrelated diagrams for things that are not really this kind of shape.
PPS: fuck ISO and ASME for putting industry communication standards behind paywalls.
PPPS: I am still mildly in disbelief that we Do Real Business Things but have a logo that is wordart.
PPPPS: @ErinRose did the cut-away detail-zoom of the screw hole in this drawing, and also, like, the big Fusion rework of the case model that I've since been recreating in FreeCAD (https://git.sr.ht/~jacqueline/tangara-hw/tree/main/item/case), and I retrospectively feel weird only putting my name in the 'Created By'. I will sort this out.
i’m pretty happy with my current mouse, but i think i would like it even more if it had an extra button ‘for ai’. please tech companies invent this key innovation
it feels a bit silly to come up with a whole Label System when i currently have a total of two (2) small cartons of production stuff. but seems better to start doing it earlier than i need than later than i need
@jacqueline better now than when you need to figure out why seven tangaras are suddenly having a bad time and you have no idea which bits went into what
they seem fine so far! tho it is a bit awkward that i attached the build artifact by downloading it from a sourcehut build page then reuploading it to codeberg manually. it would be nice to automate this in a way that's also auditable
