@de yeah but also that family feels pretty outdated now, why is i.MX9 using only A55? there's only one i.MX with Cortex-A72 (also old now) and that's a pretty exotic and power-hungry one

another thing i did today was making this thinner and wider chonker of a heatsink for the RK3588 (MNT RCORE) module for MNT Reform. it's currently on the 3d printer for fit-testing before ordering in metal.

a handful of people ordered the imx8mplus module for mnt reform (not pocket) and it was blocked on the display pipeline not working anymore (mysterious). here are some pix of the stages of fixing it today...

then i only had a black image. marek vasut pointed me to recent driver changes to samsung dsim and a relative of our ti dsi/edp bridge. adjusting dsi_mode flags resulted in a glitchy picture
cyberpunk aesthetic (but unusable)
finally, the solution was to slightly downclock lcdif's pixelclock to slow down the dsi packet transmission a bit, to give it more breathing room

it occured to me that if the web is full of junk (like ai-generated seo content etc), are there search engines where you can create and share with others your own (potentially big) sets of domains to include in the search? (edit for clarification: people would cobble together their own curated subset(s) of the web and just ignore the junk)

did you ever encounter some RP2040 GPIOs just not... working? i.e. you tell it to output a logic high level, but the actual pin is close to GND? we have some pocket keyboards that are like that. there is no short on the board. so i'm wondering how this can happen. damage during soldering, handling?
