So I should probably clarify: all that has happened to me is that I have come to terms with the fact that I'm not cisgender.

I don't know what form that is going to take, all I know is that something inside me has given, and I want to be less traditionally masculine and embrace more of my femininity. I don't think I'm a woman. Just not a man.

He/him pronouns are fine, and I'm okay being referred to in neutral terms or perhaps as a boy, not a man.

Alright! I think I did it. I got rid of bing from my start menu sort of.

If my search result is far too vague, it still shows up some suggestions at the bottom of the search menu. But, it's actually fine now.

Literally modding Windows to fix things that they can easily disable if they want to. We truly live in the future.

Is it possible to make Windows Search only choose files that are actually on my computer?

I'm actually not interested in web results at all, and those only slow down the rate that I can get at files on my computer. I actually checked my search history, and funnily enough, all of my search history is comprised solely of things I tried to search my computer for, but it decided to feed me web results instead.

They really went out of their way to make it as inconvenient as possible .

I actually also am on Windows 10. I'm imagining that it's still in the registry in windows 10, just not in the Group Policy Editor or whatever it is in W11.

@WanderingInDigitalWorlds Alright, I was able to adapt these instructions to Windows 10. Thank you!

This worked for me:

In Windows 10 the registry key that seems to have worked is

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer

then add a DWORD (32-bit) to that folder, and call it DisableSearchBoxSuggestions

Then set its value to 1.

Be very careful when messing with regedit as always (in the event anyone sees and follows this)

Weird question: Would you call Lara Croft iconic?

I would call her an icon-- in that, she's famous. If you're in gaming, you almost certainly know who she is and can picture her....
But, I don't think she has an iconic design, if that makes sense. She's no Mario, or Pac-Man, or Klonoa, or Croc, for instance...

@mezz aw, unfortunate. That's sort of the reality of tabletop gaming, it's just hard to get into a group whose interests are aligned with yours who is also really good.

I've been hearing someone play a video game-- Shadowrun Returns. I just kind of dig how it seems to be a melting pot of basically everything fictional and they made it work.

All of the essence of who anyone is, the collection of all of their experiences, is stored in a sliver of crystal in their body.

Created at birth, this crystal-- Anima-- Memorizes everything that happens to its bearer. This Anima functions as their soul, keeping an eternal legacy of any individual, while also animating their body.

And, upon death, this sliver of Anima will shortly return to the nearest titan, keeping a memory of all that has ever happened, so long as the titans exist.

The worst feeling might be randomly finding a hotkey that turns off an incredibly crucial piece of UI, and then not being able to turn it back on.

It'll be okay though, I learned how to turn on the grid.

Comic with two players at a card game tournament. One player has a deck of cards, the other player has a deck of cards with a brick in the middle, and a single card on top of it.

First player goes "...Why are you running a brick in your deck?"

Second player plays pot of greed, draws a card, and picks up the brick.
